Heroes Season One ends with a bang!

1 Comment 29 May 2007

episode 23 HeroesNBC’s ‘Heroes’ won its timeslot handily in its season finale.

According to same-day viewing estimates by Nielsen, reported by Variety.com

At NBC, “Heroes” ended its rookie season with strong numbers (6.2/15, 13.48m from 9-10:02 p.m.), prevailing by 4 shares in 18-49 and by 7 shares in adults 18-34 over ABC’s “Bachelor.” It was followed by the special off-night finale of “Law & Order: CI” (3.0/8, 8.85m).

Excellent news then, and we sure hope to see that trend continue during the second season ( or ‘Volume Two’) of Heroes.

New Season 2 Heroes

27 Comments 27 May 2007

May 25th article from Reuters that sheds some light on some new cast members.

Hit shows add cast members; new series rethink some roles.

The 2006-07 season is barely over and the broadcast networks announced their fall schedules only a week ago, but buzz has started about new characters being added to returning hits next season and roles being recast on the newly picked-up rookie shows.

NBC’s Heroes, which wrapped its freshman season with an explosive finale Monday, is rumored to be introducing at least four new, mostly international, characters next season, among them a sexy boyfriend for everyone’s favorite cheerleader, Claire (Hayden Panettiere).

Also potentially joining the cast of characters on Heroes next season are a 28-year-old black mother, a surrogate for Niki’s (Ali Larter) son, an Irish mobster, and a twentysomething Latina. It is believed that most of these characters will only do arcs on the show rather than become regulars.

HEROES: a report with TIM KRING – Part Two -

2 Comments 25 May 2007

NBC Heroes creator Tim KringTuesday morning, following the season finale, “How To Stop An Exploding Man, Tim Kring and CBR’s Jonah Weiland spent an hour on the phone conducting something of a post-game report.

They discussed the journey he’s taken with this show, the season finale, what effect, if any, “Heroes had on the cancellation of his other program, “Crossing Jordan, his newly prominent role in American pop culture and much, much more.

Here’s the portion of part two (of two) where they talk about Heroes:Origins

Tim Kring about Heroes : Origins..

I guess all we can do is hope for the best. Good luck to you guys. So, how about we move on to some happier subjects?

Let’s talk about “Origins.” When that was announced we got a lot of e-mails for Joe & Aron concern it was a sign that the show was being exploited too much. And yes, we can see where people would get that impression and it is a spin-off, an extension of the original show, but it’s not like it’s another 23 episode series.

Right. Right now it’s six episodes, they are stand alone episodes that have a kind of, for lack of a better way of describing it, a Rod Serling quality to them. A cautionary or morality tale about various people around the globe who are discovering these abilities and it allows us to tell a million different kinds of stories. Some of them will tie-in with “Heroes,” although if you don’t know what “Heroes” is you can enjoy the show without it. If you do watch “Heroes,” then those tie-ins will be really fun to watch. Yes, it’s our concern as well that we are stretching too far and we are very sensitive to that. One of the hallmarks of the people I work with, and I include myself in that group, is we’ve very conscientious about the brand and trying not to harm it and trying not to diminish or take away anything from the mother ship of “Heroes” because everything is sort of begat from there. So, the second this feels like it’s doing any sort of damage, we’ll cut our losses.

Heroes Creator Solves Finale’s Biggest Mystery

25 Comments 24 May 2007

Source: tvguide.com

You’ve been wondering, we’ve been wondering, and you have to figure that Niki, Claire, HRG/Noah, Matt, et al, were wondering, too. At the conclusion of the Kirby Plaza skirmish on Heroes’ first-season finale, why didn’t Peter just fly his explosive self up, up and away, instead of making Nathan take one for the team, as well? Presented by TV Guide with that burning question, series creator Tim Kring pauses before saying, “You know, theoretically you’re not supposed to be thinking about that.”

When assured that viewers are, Kring confirms that â€â€? as many have theorized â€â€? radioactive Peter’s other powers were “incapacitated” at that pivotal moment, and “somewhere in there is the explanation” for having Nathan grab his bro and do the “flying man!” thing. “But the real explanation is that we wanted Nathan to show up and [save the day]!”

“Yes, I will admit that there’s a very tiny window of logic there,” Kring continues with a laugh. “But what can I say? It’s requires the proverbial suspension of disbelief.” Which, when airing opposite 24, a season finale is certainly allowed. â€â€? Matt Webb Mitovich, with additional reporting by Michael Logan

Heroes Peter, Nathan and Sylar: back for season two.

89 Comments 22 May 2007

According to reliable sources: Nathan, Peter and Sylar will be back during Heroes Season Two. One of the articles announcing the news comes from E! Online Kristin. Here’s in her own words:

What Lies Ahead
Spoiler Alert! I have it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) will be back next season. I’m also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) will be back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman’s blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.

Glug! Glug! The script called for Nathan to drop Peter into the ocean after he exploded, which should explain my “swim” reference in today’s chat. We’ll see next season if that is indeed where P.P. landed.

Spoiler Alert Part Deux! I’m told next season will begin four months into the future and two of the main characters will be in deep despairâ€â€?one having completely lost his memory (bring on the Bourne Identity storyline!) and the other having developed a major drinking problem. Told ya Sylar wasn’t this show’s only demon.

Did I Mention Hiro Will Be in 17th-Freaking-Century Japan? That’s just awesome! I’m hearing it could be as many as six episodes that he’ll spend there. Sans Ando.
