Is Hiro going bad? Will Daphne and Matt be an ‘item’?

heroes NBC Matt Daphne
Well…according to -respectively- Kristin DeSantos and USA Today: yes maybe and yes maybe.

SPOILERS AHEAD

On her weekly column Kristin quoted James Kyson Lee (Ando) and Masi Oka (Hiro): “If I zapped him, it’s probably for a good reason. But we don’t know if he’s turned bad, or if I’ve turned bad, or if he’s betrayed me.” Is there a significance to Future Ando’s power of red lightning? Well, says Masi, “if you think of anybody with lightning bolts, they’re going to be evil. We see Elle as a villain, and we see future Ando shoot lightning bolts.”

She added:As of tonight’s episode, Hiro and Ando are currently stuck on Level Five, and I hear the Haitian is going to addle Hiro’s brain a little. According to James Kyson Lee, “Hiro thinks he’s 10—that’s the last age he remembers. So now I’m trying to save the world and babysit at the same time. I try to get him to remember how he used to use his powers, so there’s a little bit of ‘Yoda trying to get Luke get his memory back.’ ” So Ando is the new Yoda? “[More like] Ando-wan-kenobi.” And according to Masi Oka, there is another bonus to this situation: “It’s a good reason to be able to say ‘Yatta!’ again without feeling silly.” Yatta! Er, yay!

As for Daphne and Matt: USA Today Bill Keveney wrote: Other Daphne stories to be explored during “Villains,” Heroes’ 13-episode fall volume, include who hired her to steal the formula, what they have on her, and her future connection to mind-reading Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), who saw a painting in last week’s episode that appeared to foreshadow the two of them together with a baby. Technically a villain, Daphne is “basically good at heart” and will struggle with her role in the battle of good vs. evil, creator Tim Kring says.

now it’s time to read both articles (with even more juicy HEROES spoilers) directly from the source:

I’m hoping that Hiro as a five year old thing lasts about 10 minutes… otherwise it will be unbelievably annoying.

Aldrius, I suspect that the memory-wipe is there for a purpose….reboot the Hiro character.

In previous stories, fun-loving idealistic Hiro became serious focused Hiro in a matter of 5 years. What could have caused this dramatic personality change to happen? It could have been the Kensei timeline, but since Hiro didn’t change, that couldn’t be it. Being on the run? I doubt it. All he has to do is to stop time to get away. Losing people he loved? He’s lost a few and that didn’t change him one bit. It has to be more profound….something like a memory wipe that has the potential for him to re-invent his personality, likely along the lines of his hero at the time of his childhood (Kensei).

Absolutely ridiculous plotline with Hiro. It’s like something out of early Smallville.

Did anyone else notice that the subtitles were totally wrong when Hiro and Ando were fighting in the future?
Hiro actually said “This is MY mission” and Ando replied “Then you have failed”.
It’s got me wondering what really was going on.
