I do agree that Hiro’s father is the samuria kensie…which means sword saint. The real name is takezo, Shinmen Takezo. Also known as Miyamoto Musashi. A Japanese politicians name changes due to there honor, recognition and their actions and the samurai were consider part of medievil japans political system. Miyamoto is considered to be one of or if not thee best samuria in history. According to legend which came to be after his death he had these powers…running at super-human speed, walk on air, water and fly through the clouds. He wrote a book called the book of five rings. He claims to be a true strategist you must learn and master many other “art forms” besides of that of being a warrior. This could be a big part of why he is a good businessman. For fun this guy was born on the year of the monkey…per haps matching some characteristics. Professions:business, trade, law, stocks, industry and politics. It is also said he suffered from a difiguring skin condition…look around those eyes once more :P. Anyways i think he probably has the same ability as hiro which would make him appear as being quick with the sword.

Hmm…very very interesting. Ascend??? to what status???? Neo samurai???

John, what you said makes a lot of sense. Nakamura-sensei’s power could be “killing” or immortallity and the honor code you mentioned is Bushido. Makes sense, because japanese mentality is based on former samurai mentality….

No hypotheses or theories from me, lets get to the killing!!!!!! hurry up monday!!!!!

I have to say, I can’t really picture Hiro killing anybody with his sword. He is the most moral and “pure” character in the story.

I think you guys have already decided the reflection isn’t hiro’s father. I think it is and there’s no mystery there. Though I would really like to know his ability.

But the fact that Hiro’s father is immortal can be true. “I have waited a long time for a Nakamura to ascend.” Maybe he really is Samurai Kenzei. Well. . . we’ll know for sure in the next episodes. Episode 22 is on tomorrow.

Ok, more credibility to the idea that those arent his eyes in the reflection. Just look at the skin color and the lack of wrinkles, even the shape of the eyes. All three components are very different than George’s. And I had a question, dont know if I may be overlooking something. But the sword he took out of the velvet clothe, it did look different than Hiros actual sword, different sheath and everything, much more decorative. The handle first of all is gold and is missing the key symbol that seems to define the heroes. To further prove this, Hiro talks about ‘his’ broken sword, suggesting that its different than Georges, and that it was brken by the ‘villain’. Wouldnt he say something like “oh, dad, you fixed my sword!!!” lol, tell me what you guys think

Listen to the dialogue carefully between Hiro and Kaito, and his father’s power is quite obvious. He is immortal/can control his age. The reason he is such a master swordsman is because he has had hundreds of years of practice in battles throughout time. Most likely Hiro’s father IS Takezo Kensei. “I have waited a long time for a Nakamura to ascend.” The altered reflection lends some credence to this theory as well.

hmm, if those aren’t his eyes, maybe they’re the eyes of that Japanese warrior who owned Hiro’s sword (the one Silar broke. I’m guessing that that guy is probably one of Hiro’s ancestors)?
Maybe his dad can automatically use any weapon perfectly without having to train? (reminds me of A History of Violence: “You might want to ask your husband why he’s so damn good at killing people”) Maybe when he touches a weapon, he gets the skills of its previous owner (=the eyes) when he touches it?
Ah well, guess we’ll have to wait until Monday.

because when they bring it back toa mid shot
mr nakamura is not looking at the sword like that,
i think hes power is like to do with a swordsman, except extra speed or something… meh iono

It all makes total sense now. Linderman, Hiro’s father, Petrelli’s father, were all part of a group of heroes that went out and “saved” the world.

Something very bad happened, and they splintered, based on their beliefs.

Hiro’s father believes Linderman is wrong in what he is doing, and vice versa, yet both feel they are doing something on the side of good.

Hiro’s father is probably the exact opposite of Linderman as well, with powers. However Hiro’s dad believed that a catastrophe was not the way to save the world.

To reaffirm the fact that Hiro’s dad and Linderman aren’t together, remember who gave Bennett the baby Claire? Yup. He was hiding her from them, knowing what would happen if they got her.

Its so perfect. All coming together. Hiro’s dad is our opposite to Linderman. The masterminds collide!

nah, looks just like his eyes.

But here’s a theory: his father is really good at killing people. In fact, his power is exactly the opposite of Linderman’s power (healing). This is why both he and Linderman say “A few things”. He can suck the life force out of people (to rejuvenate himself?). Ironically, he is a good guy and Linderman a baddy.
The reason why he uses a sword to kill people and not just his power might simply be honor: he wants to give them a chance, otherwise he would consider himself a coward and lose face.
Just a thought.

Another thought: why do the old heroes keep training their kids, using them like pieces on a chessboard, instead of just using their own powers to resolve the issue? Did they at some point agree on a truce? Or did they promise each other never to use their powers for their own benefit (at least not directly)? And using the kids for their plans is kind of a loophole? Did they have their chance, screwed it up and now it’s their kids’ turn? (reminds me of Carnivale)

I really wanna know what are Petrellis’ powers (mom and pap), Linderman’s we already know, and i wanna know what is Hiro’s father’s power too
I loved that scene in which Hiro’s father says (as Linderman) “A few things”, eheh, this will be a very good episode before the season finale

I wonder if the fact that Hiro doesn’t wear his glasses any more has anything to do with his dad’s powers (what could they be? other than being a kickass-swordfighter). Or maybe Linderman healed him?

So Linderman arranged for Jessica and DL to meet/fall in love/have a son? Does that mean that he knew what powers a child of those two would have? “walking through matter”+”superstrength”=”fixing machines”?

What powers could hiro’s sister and Saresh’s sister have?

So we basically have two clans: the “good” ones (all of those who are/speak Japanese) and the “bad” ones (Linderman, Ms Petrelli). And then there’s the joker (Silar). I wonder if this constellation is a reoccurring thing. Maybe there always was a Silar-character in the past?

In the past, the heroes tried to save the world too. From what? WWI? WWII? Hiroshima&Nagasaki? 9/11? Bush? After all, this kind of event (a catastrophe is used by a few to gain/abuse power, limit freedom and make the people support decisions which lead to even worse events) happened a couple of times throughout history: the burning of the German Reichstag, Pearl Harbor, 9/11…

I wonder if Ms. Petrelli and Linderman know that Nathan will die and Silar will take his place…
