Here is another great casting news from Heroes, John Glover is joining to cast as Sylar’s father. As you may know, John Glover is well known for his role at Smallville – Lionel Luthor, father of Lex Luthor…
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the struggling NBC drama has tapped John Glover, a.k.a. Lex Luthor’s dad, Lionel, to play Sylar’s father.
“When Sylar meets his father, he’s going to see a path ahead of him that he doesn’t want to take,” reveals a Heroes insider. “He has a lot more in common with his father than he realized.”

To Heroes fan. No Sylar isnt dead. Like Claire he can’t die except for a bullet at the right spot in the back of their heads.
When Claire drove the w.e. thing in the back of his head last episod, she just “shut him down”. Whenever someone pulls it out he will heal again.
I can’t wait til’ S4. Both Pinehurst and Primatech is down.
Nathan and the gov vs all? Suddenly everyone will be hunted.
Now Peter’s future dont look so far away, since they will be the villains.
that would be calling pete and gabe bros unless petes no petrelli….
Okay, maybe um alittlebit behind but the last time i checked sylar was Peter n nathan”s brother who was given away after he was born. so, what did i miss?
Someone please drop me a hint, um in Africa the latest season hasnt started showing here but i’ve watched atleast 7 episodes of season 3 so far.
lottah, a hint? Let’s just say that Sylar gets an ability where he can tell if someone is lying or not. You’ll get it in a few episodes.
I think Heroes focuses way too much on the plot. They should spend more time constructing battles that use a wide variety of powers.
Because so far, all Sylar ever freakin’ does in a fight is use his Telekinesis. He has so many other powers yet he doesn’t use them.
Thanks God! I haven’t read this post!!! Maybe I could sound a little dumb but I almost thought that Sylar died on that fire!!! It’s good to know that he’s still alive! My favorite!!!!!
Sylar isnt going to die any time soon. He’s a main character.
All i have to say on the Nathan being bad is .. Good! .. the future is happening .. peter’s scar .. nathan being politically involved (although he’s just Senator now .. he will become the president im sure) .. i hope in turn to see maybe Peter leaving to the past this next volume .. although i heard they were going to stay away from the time travelling thing for a while .. I agree with Tracy being gone from the show .. her charater is useless and boring .. i liked that they showed Micah .. i liked him in season 1 and thought he could be used again .. wouldnt mind seeing him in Vol. 4 .. But i feel something has to happen that will cause people to forget about the “special people” .. maybe a supercharged ando at the end of the volume hits the haitian and he is able to erase the incident from people’s mind .. or maybe they will go back and change it once more .. but i can see them leaving it like everyone in the world knows about these special people and its just “kool” with everyone .. and i also want to see why or who peter was running from in the beginning of vol. 3 .. and does that mean that the future with sylar happen as well .. or did that change due to the circumstances of what happened after peter took sylars abilities .. which in my opinion why they took them away in the first place .. to start from the begining with peter and his abilities .. Sylar will be in swat gear this next volume .. is that what his dad does? .. or is it part of some sceme to grab another ability or kill one of his archenemies (peter, HRG, claire) i personally like the WTF they made me do this season .. lots of things i tought they’d include which they didn’t and lots of stuff i thought they’d never get back to which they did .. i think they tried to much in so little time that they will just stick to what has worked so far .. let me point is out
1. Sylar is bad!!! .. they tried to show u a past, present and future with him good .. everyone hated it and wanted sylar as the main villian for the show .. so sylar is bad!!
2. People like powers .. they took Hiro’s, Claire’s and most importantly Peter’s and Sylar’s powers away from them .. the four main characters .. and even though it made for a few suspensefull episodes .. they sucked and we couldn’t wait from the powers to return ..
3. They always included another villan besides sylar .. Vol.1 was Linderman .. Vol.2 was Adam Monroe .. Vol.3 was Arthur and Vol.4 wont be Nathan but the government
These things work .. stick with that .. not sure how Hiro will get his powers back but .. I’m tired of them making Hiro such a goof ball .. he saves the world but its almost like by accident .. Hiro has pontenial .. he lacks confidence and focus .. something that i hope he’ll gain in the furture .. (i remember furture Hiro from Vol.1) really hopes he turns into his future self .. So Ando could have been supercharging Hiro for something instead of killing him .. so many questions so little answers and almost no time .. this has been my 2 cents
So now hiro can time travel?
that’s explain why he died in the season 3 future..
and i hate the idea of the government involvement..
Heff-right now sylar dont have to many powers, dont forget he onlygot a few new powers since volume 2.
cliare power, elle power, sue the lie detector power and the gold power from bob.
so u see the gold power he has no point to use,so he is mainly using telekinesis and the lie detector thing now…
Yo spoiler you are totally right about Sylar’s current abilities. People tend to forget that Sylar lost all of his abilities except for telekinesis and figuring out how stuff works power at the end of Volume 2. However, I do think that Sylar’s abilities have evolved far past anything we could ever imagine. For instance, in the episode where Arthur dies, Sylar comes in the room, freezes Peter, The Haitian, and Arthur in place along with the bullet fired from Peter’s gun. Now how is it that Sylar was able to use his powers in the same room as the Haitian, yet the Haitian was able to block only Arthur’s powers? Pretty interesting…
And to answer your question Jack, yes Heroes is struggling in part due to, for lack of a better term, shitty writing. Here is a brief summary of the entire Heroes rating history: In Volume 1, Heroes peaked, averaging about 13 million American viewers per show. That average declined in Volume 2 to about 11 million American viewers per show. In Volume 3, an average of 8 million American viewers per show. Now a lot of you may see this and realize that every television show declines in ratings over the years as people lose interest, writing worsens, cast members leave, etc. But now let’s put this into perspective. Christian Slater’s awful television series, “My Own Worst Enemy” (MOWE) comes on right after Heroes on Mondays on NBC. On average, this season, has had only 4 million American viewers per show which is the obvious reason for it’s cancellation of the series after only 1 season. On December 8th, MOWE’s episode had 4 million American viewers whereas Heroes’ “Our Father,” which aired the same day, had only a little over 7 million American viewers. To be frank, it just doesn’t look good for Heroes after you’ve read this information. How is it that there are only 7 million people watching Heroes while 4 million dumb asses tune in to watch MOWE? It’s just completely absurd when you think about it. I just hope and pray that Heroes can turn it all around in Volume 4, otherwise Heroes could get the boot if it continuously loses millions of fans each volume.
Ben, you’re right about ratings, but you should also calculate online viewing numbers for Heroes. http://tvdecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/17/online-streaming-adds-millions-of-viewers-for-heroes-the-office/
Ben i have to disagree with you about Sylar’s abilities being gone besides telekinesis. He admitted to being able to hear what NOAH and the guy who makes vortexes were talking about. He was pretty far away and he knew what was going on.
To destruction, I agree. They haven’t answered much. They still haven’t answered many questions from Season One. The writers might also be answering them in future seasons. One of my 2 biggest questions are: Why did Arthur have the Parkman Ability? and How does Claude know how to teach Peter how to use his ability in season 1?
hey ben very good comment,i didnt knew heroes rating went down this much but its still a very good show with a very good story line so i think ppl will keep tune in.
and as for -”sylar is back” comment, sylar never admits he heard them, its like he understoo what noah, but if he did heard them then thats just another of the plut holes heroes keeps putting in diffrent episodes.
and for your question about claude,im pretty sure peter is not the first mim hes been working with,he also mention it to peter his not the first one,so he probably like noah kind of a teacher to some of the heroes, claude was also the first guy elle went to when she coudnt control her ability probably cos she knew about his history and that he helps other ppl to control there powers.
about arthur having parkman ability thats just another plot hole, probably some guy they knew had telepathy also.
will be very cool to see what kind of ability sylar dad have, and if its something like his intuavtive apitude…
