They didn't show Claire aCtuALLy dying.. Sylar started to kill her and she said "Sylar". Just like the time Sylar was starting to ill Peter (but Peter had the ability to heal).. and he didn't die. So Claire's gona probably heal herself. Whoever wrote up the recap for the episode made everything so final, when really.. some stuff they showed was unfinished, and remains a mystery. we don't really know. just like they said how bennet saved DL.. when we know he "died".. everything's uncertain. dont jump to conclusions so fast you guys!

Future Hiro stabbed Sylar. Has it occur to you that perhaps Sylar has already has Candice's shapeshifting powers to trick Linderman into healing Sylar while as he is imposting as Nathan, and being Nathan for that moment Sylar realises that being Nathan would be a great earn because he could collect everyone elses powers since he has the political power as the president? Heroes is a series full of mistery that's for sure and that's why i love it . (:

Try wrapping your head around this.

Hiro caused the explosion. Please, just bare with me...

Time travelling storylines can be extremely complicated. Hiros timeline is cyclical and something Hiro does in the future directly affects what he does in the past which affects what he does in the future. We don't even know if what happened in the pilot, when Hiro witnessed the explosion, was the same timeline as Hiro would've followed if he hadn't discovered his power.

Now, Hiro travels back in time and tells Peter "Save the cheerleader, Save the World." Peter goes on a quest to find Claire and save her, granting him her regenerative powers. Later, Peter fights Sylar in Mohinders appartment and gets a piece of glass lodged in the back of his head, killing him. If he hadn't saved Claire and gained her powers, he would've either died there, or never been on the quest to find Sylar in the first place, in which he would have no direction in "finding himself" and probably wouldn't meet Ted and gain his powers.

IMO, it was all Hiros fault... :P

I think, producers should not show a such dark episode of the future.
Sylar is not evil, it is his nature to provide a balance. Parkman cant read Sylar's mind because Sylar knows how thinks work, Now he can examine a brain with out harming it using DL's Power. After all Sylar has the bigest power. Knowing how things work.

@Justin:

Hiro, in addition to folding space and time, can remember all the different timelines he's been to. After going back in time to the subway and delivering the message to Peter, he returned to his own time and found to his surprise that nothing had changed. He still remembers stabbing Sylar.

I think the show's philosophy on the future is that the future is shaped by what's currently happening in the past, and only by knowing the future can Hiro change it. The future in Episode 20 is a result of Hiro going back to warn Peter, Peter exploding in place of Sylar, and Present Hiro being absent from the timeline, which meant he couldn't stop Sylar. Now that he and Ando have seen the future, they can go back and change it.

What I'd like to know is just how set-in-stone Isaac's precognitive visions are. Up until now, it's generally shown different characters what they're "supposed" to do (Hiro with 9th Wonders, Peter with Homecoming, and now Mohinder with 9th Wonders), and so far not a single vision of his has been wrong. What does this mean for a) the painting of the bomb, b) the paintings of Sylar/Nathan in the Oval Office, and c) the end of the last 9th Wonders which shows Hiro stabbing Sylar? (It may be possible that Linderman doesn't realise that the painting he shows Nathan of him as president may actually be Sylar.)

Some other tidbits I picked up from Five Years Gone: I realised Nathan was Sylar when he told Mohinder "I understand how things work" when they were examining the timeline in Isaac's loft; the scene where we first see Nathan standing in the Oval Office is very like to Isaac/Sylar's paintings; Peter must have met Claire's mother at some point in the timeline; and Future Sylar has likely obtained the unknown power of Molly Walker. (F-Hiro tells Bennet that he brought him DL, Candice and Molly Walker: Sylar has killed the former two, so likely the latter as well.)

If Parkman doesn't know Nathan is Sylar, then I have a theory on how he may have overlooked it: we don't know whether the Haitian's true allegiances lie with Parkman or Sylar-Nathan. The latter may have ordered the Haitian to block out Matt's power or indeed ALL powers around him. If Parkman is knowingly working for Sylar (judging from his personality in the future I wouldn't put it past him) then it's probably out of either fear or just evil.

Sylar wasn't the one who exploded... it was actually Peter. Peter thought his brother told everyone it was actually Sylar in order to protect Peter. Although I'm not sure why Future Hiro thought he stabbed Sylar when in reality Peter was the one that exploded...

Either they had a serious error, or Sylar gets healing powers from somewhere else. In the future, Hiro says he stabbed Sylar but Sylar regenerated. But Claire was alive, which means Sylar couldn't have absorbed her power...how did he regenerate?

1) Absorbed a healing factor from somebody else? Linderman? Can Linderman heal himself?

2) Healed by somebody else? Linderman is the obvious candidate here, if he still wanted the bomb to go off.

3) Continuity mistake.

@Pnut

Chances are, Hiro didnt know Candice, DL, and Molly were dead when he asked Bennet for their locations. If he knew, I doubt he would've asked.

And I agree with AC. Matt probably didn't know it was Sylar cuz he never read his mind. Like he said, it got him into a lot of trouble before.

Parkman doesn't passively know everything that's going on around him, he has to actively read somebody's mind. I know I would be tempted to read the mind of the President, but with all the trouble his power had gotten him into, I could understand him being pretty cautious with it.

So here is my dillema. Hiro says he needs people he saved like DL, Candice and Molly.... So does that mean DL is alive? If so, then that means that Nikki does not know.

BUT, Sylar had the power to phase in the door to pull Peter out to the hallway. Sooooo, which is it? Is DL dead or alive in the future?

Yeah Matt *has* to know its Sylar, otherwise he wouldn't have willingly shot Bennet and brought Claire back. It explains why he stated that he couldn't 'come back empty-handed'

Future Hiro has no idea that it wasn't Sylar, and Peter can already regenerate so it has to be Peter that he attacks before the nuclear blast?

I was quite curious as to what the ''linderman act''. From the comics it looks like linderman is good? But how can be good if he wants the bomb too explode? I always wondering why nathan (sylar) was just able too command the others to follow him, it did look a bit forceful. Persuasion ablity maybe? I was also wondering why matt couldn't read sylars mind to find out that it was him. I think its possible that matts knows he is sylar and if he doesn't do as he says sylar will just kill him. Thats why he didn't look so suprised when he phased through the wall to grab peter¿

I was also wondering why matt couldn’t read sylars mind to find out that it was him. I think its possible that matts knows he is sylar and if he doesn’t do as he says sylar will just kill him. Thats why he didn’t look so suprised when he phased through the wall to grab peter¿

It seems that Jessica is dead because her son is dead, since Niki created her alternate personality "Jessica" to protect Micah no Micah no power. I also think Peter gets his scar from Hiro's sword blade the sword gives Hiro the ability to control his powers maybe it has powers of it's own. Possibly this scar is givin to Peter while Hiro is trying to stop him from exploding????? Since it's Peter and not Sylar who blows up NYC.

Sylar and Peter don't "nuke up and the battle begins." I think Sylar is using ice and Peter is using fire.
