At Kirby Plaza:
We start with the replaying of DL getting shot then pulling out Linderman’s brain. When DL falls, Niki asks him why he let the bullet hit him, instead of phase through. When Linderman’s guards begin to hit the door trying to brake in, DL tells Niki to go find Micah. Niki refuses to go without him-stating that he can phase them out of there- and picks him up. DL doesn’t think he his able to, but with Niki’s support, phases through the wall just before the guards burst in.

Replay from last week of Mohinder and HRG at a standoff. Matt is unconscious and Molly is hiding behind the curtains. HRG tells Mohinder that he needs to kill Molly in order to protect his daughter, and thousands of others. While the two argue, Molly starts to crawl under the bed, just as Matt begins to wake up. Matt looks up and sees Molly-who is excited to see her “hero” again. Mohinder and HRG are confused when Molly tells Mohinder that she told him Matt was coming, and Matt explains how he saved her. He then lowers HRG’s gun and tells him that no one will hurt Molly.

Replay of Hiro running out of the sword shop and starting to go after Ando, when his father stops him and tells him that his mission is more important then a single life. Hiro argues with his father, and asks him to back his choice. Kaito Nakamura hands Hiro the sword, and tells him not to forget his legacy. Hiro teleports away.
Sylar is in Isaac’s loft and begins to paint Kirby Plaza at night. When he finishes, he looks over at a painting of Peter, and slices it in half.

Nathan is in his office, with his acceptance speech playing on TV. His mother tells him that the boys and Holly are safely out of the city. She then informs Nathan that Linderman is dead, but that doesn’t change the plan. Nathan admits that this changes nothing, and that the world will still need him after the bomb.
Niki and DL are stumbling through the halls when DL stops to rest on the wall. He tells her to go on and find their son. Niki kisses him, tells him to stay there, and runs to find Micah.

Mohinder and HRG are putting Thompson’s body into a medical waste bin, as HRG tells him that others from the company will be looking for Molly, Mohinder states that he won’t let anything happen to her, and tells HRG that it is his antibodies that are keeping her alive. Matt then runs into the room, as something is wrong with Molly. As HRG goes to follow, his phone rings-Claire.
Claire and Peter are in the car, and she begins to tell HRG about Ted. HRG then asks to talk to Peter, and tells him that Sylar now has Ted’s ability as well. He says that he is fixing a tracking system, and that he will locate Sylar-but Peter is the only one who can stop him. He then tells Peter to keep Claire safe.

Peter hangs up the phone and pulls into a parking garage, where Nathan is waiting. Claire flips out, telling Peter that he doesn’t care and that they don’t need him. Peter says that he needs him, and that his brother has never let him down. Peter than reads Claire’s thoughts of shock and feeling betrayed before he gets out of the car.
Peter tells Nathan that Sylar is the bomb, not himself. Nathan asks what he wants him to do, to which Peter asks for his help. Nathan takes Peter aside and tells him to take Claire someplace safe, and then come back. Peter, however, reads, “You can’t stop it, no one can stop it” from Nathan’s mind. Peter says that Claire was right, and goes back to the car, only to see that Claire is gone.

Claire is running up the stairs when she runs into Angela, who stops her.
Peter runs out of the garage, calling for Claire, when he starts to glow. Peter pauses, then faints and slowly stops glowing.

Mohinder gives Molly another transfusion of his blood, while HRG is pacing back and forth ranting about how Sylar is out there and they need to find him. Molly sits and says that she can find the boogeyman. When Matt asks if she can find anyone, Molly says that she can find everyone…but one person. When she thinks about this person, this person is able to see her. Molly than takes a map, and a pin. After a minute, she puts the pin over Reed Street, where Isaac’s loft is. HRG then calls Claire.
Claire, Nathan and Angela are walking when Claire’s phone rings. Angela answers it, and tells HRG that she gave Claire to him so that he could keep an eye on her, and that he failed, so they are taking her out of the city. HRG asks if he can say good-bye. Claire gets on the phone and tells HRG that she is trying to escape. He tells her not to, instead to wait until they leave town, then to escape as soon as she knows it’s safe. He then asks where Peter is, but she tells him that she doesn’t know. Claire asks if he has a plan, which he tells her he does. Angela tells her that they have to go, and the two hang up.
HRG then turns to Matt and tells him that their new priority is to find Peter. Matt responds that he is a cop, and knows where the bad guy is, so he is going after him. HRG tries to stop him, but is unable.

Peter wakes up, in a greenhouse. He sees himself in a nurse uniform wheeling Charles Daveaux, who’s accompanied by Angela, on the roof top patio of Charles’s building. Charles and Angela sit down at the table for some tea and ‘past Peter’ walks away and meets -for the first time- Simone. After they introduced themselves, they walk into a greenhouse, where ‘past Peter’ tries to comfort Simone about her father’s imminent death by explaining that death makes us realize the important things in life: who we touched, what we’ve given, and then tells her that to him, her father is a hero. Simone then invites him inside.

Angela and Charles are talking about the Petrelli boys and Linderman. Charles tells Angela that he thinks that is Peter who will save the world, where Angela thinks that it is Nathan because Peter is weak. She says that the bomb will go off, and that Nathan will save the world. Charles disagrees, claiming that the bomb might not go off, and that Peter has a heart, and courage and intelligence. He then says that if the bomb does go off, then at least he will not be there to see it. Angela says that she will miss him, and leaves. Once she is gone, Charles then address ‘present Peter’ claiming he knows he’s standing there watching and listening.

Ando goes inside Isaac’s loft, sword drawn and ready to kill Sylar. He sees the painting that Sylar had drawn of himself and Peter fighting at Kirby Plaza. Ando takes a step, and steps in blood. He turns around, only to find Sylar, who telepathically begins to choke him and push him back towards the wall. The comic book from the future falls out of Ando’s pocket, and Sylar begins to look through it. When he comes to the page with the drawing of Hiro killing Sylar, he is in disbelief, as Hiro already had the opportunity and failed to take it. Ando asks Sylar if he will cut his head open, to which Sylar replies that there would be no point and begins cutting his throat instead. Hiro teleports in, and grabs Ando’s sword. He tells Sylar to let Ando go.

Sylar refuses, and wants to know if Hiro can stop time before he cuts open his friend’s throat. Hiro then teleports out, and a confused Sylar begins looking around. Hiro then teleports in behind Sylar, grabs Ando, and teleports back out.
Niki is running through the halls, calling Micah and trying doors when she comes across an open one. She pushes it open to find Jessica sitting on the couch, stating that Niki failed, and killed Micah. Micah is lying dead on the floor behind the sofa. Niki runs to him, and Jess begins blaming Niki for DL and Micah’s deaths. Niki begins crying, and Jess punches her into a mirror.

Matt walks into Isaac’s apartment, where he sees the painting and the blood. He calls Mohinder.
Mohinder is packing when Molly comes in and asks what’s wrong. Mohinder tells her that the boogeyman is coming, but Molly tells him the boogeyman is already there.
Nathan, Angela, and Claire walk into Nathan’s office and Claire begins questioning them bout the bomb. Nathan tells her that there is nothing anyone can do. Claire replies, “The future is not written in stone”. She then turns around and asks Angela why she kept Nathan away from her, how they can expect Peter to live with himself after causing so many deaths, and how they think that they will live with themselves. Nathan tells her that it will all make sense after, and Angela tells her that they are offering her what she always wanted, a family. Claire then walks and hugs Nathan. She whispers, “I already have a family” and jumps out the window. Nathan and Angela run to the window, and watch Claire get up and walk away. Angela tells Nathan that she knows what he’s thinking, but to let her go.

Niki is getting beaten by Jessica when she looks into a piece of the broken mirror and sees the real Jessica. The real Jessica tells her that she is gone, that this is not her who she is fighting, and to kick the impostor’s ass. Niki replies that she is not strong enough, and Candice (as Jessica) asks who she is talking to. Niki gets up, and punches Candice across the room, knocking her out and the illusions of Jessica and Micah disappear. Niki hears Micah calling out from a closet. Niki breaks down the door, which makes Micah think that she is Jessica. Niki hugs him, saying, “It’s me. It’s only me.”
Molly and Mohinder are running down the hall when the come across DL, fainted on the floor. Mohinder stops to help him. When the elevator doesn’t move, Molly goes to watch out for help.

Ando and Hiro have teleported to their office in Japan, which causes a few glances. Ando thinks that they should go back now and surprise Sylar, but Hiro tells him that he is going alone. Hiro then gives him the Kensei’s sword as a promise that he will come back. He takes Ando’s sword and teleports.

Back to Peter. He’s still with Charles who’s saying that he always wanted to be invisible. Peter sheds the invisibility and asks if they are in a dream. Charles replies that it doesn’t matter. He tells Peter that he is strong, and that in the end, all that matters is love.
HRG wakes Peter up, who is lying on the street. When asked how he found him, HRG says that they have a new tracking system. He then tells Peter that Claire is with Nathan and Angela, and that she is safe. HRG tells Peter that he is going with him, as he saved his little girl, and that if he starts to explode, he will shoot him. Peter thanks him, and HRG tells him to call him “Noah”.
Mohinder is patching up an awake DL when Micah and Niki run into the hall. Molly tells them that the guards are coming. Micah runs to the elevators, followed by Molly, who tells him that they don’t work. Micah says that they will for him, and sure enough, they start working. Molly thinks this is awesome-and the five escape once again just before the arrival of the guards.
Peter and Noah arrive in Kirby Plaza, and begin looking for Sylar. Sylar finds them first, and hurls Noah into a pillar some 100 feet away. Peter turns around, and Sylar asks,”What took you so long?” followed by, “Didn’t I kill you already??” Peter responds “It didn’t stick” before getting strangled by Sylar. Niki, Mohinder, DL, Molly, and Micah run out into the plaza.

Matt then shoots Sylar, who stops the bullets first and then turns them back -shooting Matt. Niki leaves the boys and kids and runs to help. Sylar pulls out a parking meter and goes to hit Peter with it.

Niki grabs the parking meter, and begins to beat Sylar with it. Micah then yells that DL needs her help, and Peter tells her to go help her family. Peter then begins punching Sylar, who starts to giggle when Peter begins to glow.

Peter then walks of and tries to get it under control. Syalr stands up and tells Peter that, “Now you are the villain, and I get to be the Hero”.

Hiro teleports in behind Sylar. Sylar turns around and, taken by surprise, gets stabbed by Hiro.

Hiro pulls the sword out and runs to Peter, asking what he can do to help. Peter tells Hiro to stab him, but before he is able to, Sylar -nearly unconscious- hurls him towards a nearby building. Hiro teleports away right before the crash. Peter is desperately trying to gain back his control, while Mohinder, Molly, Matt, Niki, Micah, and DL look on. Claire runs to her father, and takes his gun. She then runs to Peter, and aims it at him. Peter tells her to shoot him, but she starts crying, stating that it’s not right.

Nathan then flies down in front of her, and pushes the gun down. He tells her that, “the future is not written in stone.” He then walks up to Peter, telling him that there is another way. He then tells him that, “You saved the cheerleader, so we could save the world.”

Peter and Nathan embrace, and fly upward. Everyone in the plaza looks at them disappear high in the sky. Then there’s a huge explosion and a bright light that illuminates the scene for a few seconds as if it was daytime. Niki asks, “What happened to them?” Flash to Sylar’s body.

The plaza is crowded with police and ambulances. Matt is on a stretcher, getting put into an ambulance, when Molly runs from Mohinder to him. Sobbing, she tells him that he’s her hero, and that he cannot die.
Claire is sitting next to the fountain when Noah comes up and says that it is time to go home. Claire points out that Ted blew up their home, and Noah tells her that a home is where the people you love are. Claire looks at her dad and says,”You have a plan, don’t you?” He nods and the two leave.
Where Sylar’s body was, now there’s only a trail of blood leading to an open sewer manhole.

End of Season One

Beginning of Season Two

Hiro has transported himself into a field near Osaka…right next to an ancient Japanese army… in 1671. The archers ready their weapons, and Hiro turns to run away. However, at the top of a nearby hill, appears a lone warrior in blue bearing the flag of a blue helix. As the two begin to ready, an eclipse occurs.

No, I think the roach symbolizes (or is) the worse villain that Molly was talking about. I imagine that Sylar made a deal with him when HRG had him so that he could escape, and I think that – at the end of the episode – the same guy came and collected his debt by taking Sylar’s body.
Also, in terms of how Generations will play out, an interview I read with a couple of the writers just yesterday said that scenes of the past will be mingled in with scenes from the present – sort of like “Company Man” – but with the past eventually catching up to where we will be. So the story line is going to keep moving forward from last night.
Forgot to add this: I thought this episode was good, and the ending brilliant. Certainly not the greatest Heroes episode ever, but the intensity of the final scene between Peter and Nathan was fantastic.
this is a good story, the lense, the audio, the flow, it’s good.. btw, i can’t still understand the story, could u mind season 2 solve some questions? btw, i think any heroes shouldn’t die anymore.. peter? let me guess, still alive rite? he got claire’s ability.. then, when the season 2 is release?
Peter – lives… somehow he regenerates.
Sylar – lives… remember chapter 11
Nathan – seemingly no… but who knows
Can’t wait to see how Volume 2 plays out.
why didnt they jut shoot peter with the tranquilizer gun like they did with ted? that way no one (hint nathan) would have to die. Peter could have flown himself, as mentioned in someone’s post above, but what happens after peter explodes and nathan’s gone? will peter just fall or will he be too tired to use his dead brother’s flying power? They should have wrapped up with a flash of peter after he landed (he couldn’t have stayed up in the air after he exploded). perhaps he would be unconcious, or just crying and mourning nathan. that would have been a good ending with SOME closure.
No the cockroach was explained in the first episode.
Mohinder is teaching class and says that the pinnacle of evolution is the cockroach. “Capable of living months without food, surviving headless weeks, resistant to radiation…if God has in fact created something in his own image it is the cockroach.” You can also see other cockroaches throughout the series. When Sylar is locked up after homecoming he is staring at one in the prison floor. There is one crawling over Parkman’s food when he is in prison at the same place
!!! WHAT A WEAK SEASON FINALE !!!!
Totally sucked, not enough action between Sylar and Peter.
Heaps disappointed, I know it wasn’t going to be Matrix style. But seriously Peter starts punching Sylar ? Give me a break. He has unlimited Power !!!!
Peter has barely been in control of his powers all season. Why did anyone think that he would suddenly become a badass in the space of this last episode?
He did have some control of his powers. He can turn invisible at will and when he was attacked that time he could use telekinesis.
Look I like Heroes I just expected more for the finale.
Sure, but he was always slightly out of control. Top that off with Peter being scared, and there is no way he could have taken on Sylar. A Battle Royal – at this point – would have been completely out of character for Peter, and wouldn’t have allowed for Nathan to choose to sacrifice himself for his brother, which is what this whole season has been about.
Peter could have flown, maybe. He was in panic mode. He has had an unstable control of some powers all season, gradually getting better. Remember, the future Peter from a few episodes back with the scare WAS badass and seemed to have total control of all of his powers.
Another thing to think about: Why can’t, or hasn’t, Peter absorbed any of the abilities Sylar took?
I was hoping sylar wld be killed cos he was just too crippy. But we do need a villain and yes i wonder who molly talking about when she said he cld see her too. And why the heck didnt Peter absorb all of sylar’s powers? He can do that cant he?
Also, who is to say that Nathan actually died? He can fly fast. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect that he flew Peter up high enough, let go, then flew away. He could even fly and catch Peter after the explosion.
Who did Molly reference when she said there was one that she could not find? At first I thought it was the man in Peter’s flashback, however now I suspect it’s a new person we have not yet seen.
As for Peter time travelling, I have yet to see him do this. I’m not sure if he is even aware that he has that power or wants to use it. Hiro’s time travel is very unstable, even though he seems to teleport perfectly fine.
The finale was a downer. It felt like they brought in a new writer, who barely knew what had happened before!
* Peter could have flown HIMSELF! This was glaringly obvious.
* The ’showdown’ was extremely underwhelming, regardless of whether it would have been ‘in character’ for Peter. They could have cut some of the ‘love is the answer’ material for a few more moments of fighting.
* The Haitian…yeah, he could have muted Sylar’s powers.
* How could the cop be so…dumb? He has seen all of these amazing powers, yet he thinks that he can take Sylar out with a gun?
The writers don’t seem to think that we can remember everything leading up to the finale.
It always seems we have more questions than answers. For example how did peter get into that dream state where he cld speak to Simone’s dad? Is that another hidden ability?
