Is there anyone who didn’t feel a little bit lost with this episode? I’m left with lots of questions and I am definitely confused. The line between good and bad has become even more blurry. At least, now we know Sylar’s real power is. Now let’s take a look at what has happened in this episode.
I’ll start with Mohinder, probably the most stupid scientist that has ever lived on TV universe. Since he has injected himself with the formula, he has totally become a creep and his situation isn’t getting any better. In the future scenes, he becomes even creepier and doesn’t want to show his face.
Tracy pays a visit to his creator, Dr. Zimmerman. He reveals that Niki, Tracy and Barbara are triplets whom separated at birth. He also informs that she got her superpowers by DNA manipulation, not at birth. This leaves us with the question are there any other heroes that we know who got powers with the help of Company. Later on she attempts suicide but Nathan flies and saves her. Now both are aware of each other’s power, they kiss and cuddle and in the future we see them as a couple.

The rift between Ando and Hiro grows. Still, Ando helps Hiro to escape from the cell but Haitian captures and takes them to Angela. She asks about the formula. When Hiro tells her that he has lost it, she sends them to get the key to solve the mystery behind formula. The key is Adam Monroe, who wasn’t happy to see Hiro once again.

Let’s come to the hard part. Last week, Future Peter took off with Present Peter. He takes them to the future where anyone can purchase abilities and the line between right and wrong is blurry. Peter –both future and present- seems to be on one side while Claire, Knox, Daphne and Haitian on the other one. Claire Clan aims to kill Peter whom they call a ruthless murderer. On the other hand Peter wants to form an army with people who have abilities. At their first encounter, Claire manages to kill Future Peter which I though was impossible since Peter has her power and she’s IMMORTAL. Present Peter escapes and visits Sylar.

Sylar is living happily with his son Noah at the Bennet house. He acts friendly towards Peter. Peter, with all his confusions, asks Sylar about his power and tells him that he needs to get it in order to save the world. Sylar warns Peter about the hunger he feels, and consequences of his power. Now we know what Sylar can really do, to understand how things work. Since Peter and Sylar are brothers, they both have a similar ability. Does this mean Nathan got his ability after he was born? His power isn’t anything like the other two.
While they were exchanging powers, Claire, Knox and Daphne barge in. Sylar doesn’t seem to have a side but Claire definitely holds a grudge against him. During the battle Knox kills Noah; Sylar goes atomic, explodes and kills 200,000 people.

Somewhere between these events, we learn that Daphne is the woman from the drawings that Matt saw in Africa. In the future they are married with a child. Molly also lives with them. After Daphne escapes from the explosion, she goes back home to Matt, and dies in his arms. (Another drawing from previous episode.)

Peter and Claire also survive and Claire tortures Peter for every single person that has died because of the explosion. Nathan comes in and stops her. Nathan understands that Peter doesn’t trust him, so he asks Peter to read his mind. While doing so, things get out of control and Peter gives into the hunger and becomes the monster he always thought Sylar was. Btw, after Haitian leaves the room Peter can use all his powers, but he can’t heal? Why didn’t the scars immediately disappear? That was kind of silly.
Back in the present day, Matt wakes up from his future dream and starts following a turtle as his spirit totem that will guide him to change the future. Really, a turtle? Does this mean Matt’s stay in Africa will become Hiro’s boring Japan story arc? I hope not because I really really like Matt and his ability is too cool to be spent at a desert.

I am however tired of Hiro and Ando. Ando isn’t really needed and Hiro needs to grow up. You’d think after saving the world, twice, that he’d be a little more battle savvy.
Claire and the whole immortal thing has me confused. Angela’s dream showed her being decapitated and dead. So she’s a highlander, did Knox say “there can be only one”?
I really felt for Sylar in this episode. I wouldn’t want my kid to see a super power freek show and possibly death at that age. I think that is why Peter and Sylar didn’t go berserker on the Claire Gang. And if I was ripe with powers and someone killed my son I’d go nuclear also.
I want more Level 5 villains!!!
a shot to the head can kill an immortal..this was made clear by the poison lady back in season two as he was aiming for adam’s head, and claire too said that a shot to the head can kill peter..
what’s interesting is the company is starting to show its roots, with adam and i think arthur’s making an appearance in the next episode which has startled angela…
yeah it leaves me puzzled still on howcome future peter is still lying there if he could heal…hatian left the room and he’s still dead?
I agree with feed me a stray cat. This episode was the best out of the entire series, I was able to keep up with everything. Never gotten lost at all during the series, and I think the show is going just where it needs to go.
Future Peter should have rebirthed when contact with the Haiten was broken.
I’m getting fed up with these absurd inconsitencies, heroes writers need to put more thought into things.
For example, Present Peter throws Nathan against the wall – and is about to do the sawing thing… But amagadwtf, Future Peter regenerates and stops him!
and Yeah, the Scene @ Bennett house was fairly bad, the blood could have healed Noah >_>
ps; Cgi was horrific in this Epsiode, the Nathan flying scene, Peter cutting open Nathans head and Sylars glowing hands were all ridiculous – Makes you wonder where all the money is being spent. (p.s; Season 1 still beats this hands down)
It is annoying, when they give these characters abilities and they don’t use them, peter and sylar both have telekenesis, peter can stop time and even control people with matts ability, yet they choose to just shout at the bad guys for a while.
The ending was good when peter through sylar against the wall
Mohinder suresh should be renamed to Kinder Surprise …
Hardly a review… more of a summary…
@Jay…
it could have been that the bullet in the back of Peter’s head was not removed hence he stays dead rather than coming back. We have seen this before with Claire and Peter, when a forgein object is lodged in to the head, it obstructs the brain’s functions thus inhibiting it from working correctly.
I personally think that Sylar (Gabrielle) using nuclear punches and exploding with Knox was the passing of the torch, kinda like Peter and Sylar switching sides, which is also represented through Peter with the hunger. But yeh, it’s exactly what Peter did in the first season to try and beat Sylar, the writers are just trying to show that they have become each other imo
I think this was the best ep. by far. They actually humanized Sylar. I didnt think it was possible, but know I can kinda understand why he kills people it not just a power trip like I thought.
I know alot of people didn’t like the Bennet house fight but hear me out. Gabrielle started a new life. He gave up on Sylar and found ways to control his hundger. He’s a totally different person. He even admits that he changed becauae of Noah. Now when Knox kills his son I think that Gabrielle reacts like a parent and not like a cold blooded killer like Sylar. It was a reaction, emotion..and BOOM!
Now present Peter really needs no explanation. He’s still naive and trying to figure everything out. If you notice, his whole beef was with Claire and as soon as he smacked the shit out of her he was really out the fight till he tried to stop Gabrielle from exploding..but in any case..I think things got way out of hand to fast for Peter to think about what he needed to do because Gabe was going nuclear.
Now the Future Peter thing on the examination table got me too. I think he should have woke up too because I only saw Claire shoot him in the chest.(I’m going to check that fact in a sec.) However, sometimes we tend to over analyze things. This is ‘TV reality’ so you can’t question EVERYTHING. This is the same logic that TV uses to explain how a character can get on a plane in LA and travel half way round the world by the next commercial still looking faboulous. BS…but no one really questions that…
Anyway, I agree with those of you who think they are wasting their film on Hiro and Ando. In season one it was cute, but now it’s ‘tarded. Hiro should be much more responsible at this point at least with his father dying and everything. I know he’s comic relief but he needs to get serious…and then pull out the good one-liners.
Oh, and by the look at next promo it seems that Angela doesn’t know everything this thinks she knows…
ok so that was one crazy episode,i defintly that tought peter will take syler power but he did…
and i read the novel of heroes, and claire start to work for a company called pinehearst, and she found out future peter killed 200 of her co workers, and he tells her about the future that he saw and that they r the ones that do it,claire and that company, which i think btw is run by arthur paterlli…
anyway from there pretty much claire cant forgive peter for what he did to her company workers.
any ideas as to the mother of little noah? maybe claire?
if you didnt realize that peter and sylar were brothers the moment angela told sylar “im your mother” youve got problems
did anyone here watch season 1? when chandra suresh (mohinder’s dad) finds gabriel gray, he is the son of a clock maker. thats why the theme music for sylar is clocks ticking. he fixed watches and he understood how they worked and how everything worked. then when he realized he was “special” he got greedy and started taking abilities and such.
the moment i figured out that peter needed to figure out how to use sylars ability i knew he just needed to analyse a clock. remember how sylar would “listen” to a watch and THEN he’d go crazy on it and make it new…
it was absolutely ridiculous how future sylar allowed his son to get killed, when he tells knox that he isnt afraid of him, and knox says “but ur son is” he should have just stopped him with his telekinesis just like he did when him and noah faced off with him at the bank. what an idiot he basically asked the guy to murder his son…
and peter… why didnt you stop time when knox and daphne and claire were assaulting you, sylar and noah?
Why oh WHY do these storylines have to be built around the characters being mentally handicapped?
As much as I love this show I’m starting to get fed up with the writers and Tim Kring, they honestly must think everyone watching the show is an idiot. I mean there are so many holes at this point I don’t even know where to begin. Like Krings comment in response to the ending of season 1 “why didn’t Peter just fly up on his own?” KRING: “theoretically, you shouldn’t be thinking about that..” what a c***. I wish they would start treating the audience like intelligent adults instead of children. I’m still totally into it but I don’t like when simple logic is able to dismantle the flow of an entire episode.
@ al, i assume that noah’s murder was accidental, or knox just being stupid. he said it himself: “[you're not afraid of me, ] but he (noah) is.” Noah was the only think knox had going for him in that fight, but he’s foolish and yeah.. you know what happened.
@volker, i feel your frustration, it is starting to get pretty bad. however, i still manage to put it behind me just enough to enjoy the show for what it is.. although i’m not totally sure i can do that forever. and my personal theory with the end of season 1 was that peter could not control his flying ability because he was going nuclear. can’t control one of them, can’t control any? and have we ever seen two abilities used at once out of peter/sylar? maybe the absorbers can only use one ability at a time.. (sylar only uses telekinesis on the villains in the bank)
oh i knew once gabes son didnt move..that was it.. but i didnt expect him to go ted on everybody…and peter im wondering with all the power he is possessing will it make him a villain or just like neo, become to much for the matrix and have to die because of power overload!!!! then theyll have to take him off the show, and that will suck, but hes moving too too fast and like one of the previous writers said, it will make him boring..and man kensei is BACK IN THE BUILDING!!! wow the IMMORTALS ARE COMING OUT!!!
