It’s been a long time since we last watched a new episode of Heroes. I can’t even seem to recall some of the incidents that took part in Volume 2: Generations. However if you’ve seen the countdown episode that aired before the premiere, you can see that it’s not that important to remember everything. All the cast members emphasized the fact that this season of Heroes will be all new, and won’t be like anything we have seen before. I hope that’s a good thing.

First two episodes were full of action and there were a lot to tell since we have tons of characters. But still, it was put together great. Here are some highlights and ideas from the first two episodes.

The second season ended with Nathan Petrelli being shot at the press conference where he was going to reveal himself and others with superpowers, and his condition was unknown. In the first scenes of the episode, we see that press conference was a bad idea. 4 years into the future, people with abilities are being hunted, used as lab rats and killed. Peter comes back from the future to stop this from happening and shots Nathan.

He is being chased by present day Peter and Matt Parkman. when they run across each other he sends Matt to somewhere in Africa, and present-himself to a prisoners body, named Jesse, in the company’s cells.

After being shot and dead, Nathan wakes up. Guess who did that? Mr. Linderman himself. Now Linderman is a character only Nathan can see and speak. Nathan develops a huge belief in God and expresses it on TV. Then he is asked to become a senator by Tracy. We’ll come to that later.

Sylar, who has gained back his powers, hunts Claire down. In these scenes, we learn that Claire is immortal, from now on so is Syler. After the incident, Claire notices that she can’t feel pain any longer and questions her humanity. Btw, if Sylar copies Claire’s ability and becomes immortal, does this mean Peter is immortal too?

Immortal Syler, who was kept at level 2 at the company goes after level-5 villains. He first kills Bob, then attempts to kill Elle. She unleashes a massive storm of lightning and destruction which frees all the bad guys plus Noah Bennet. But hey, she managed to capture Syler, right? Angela fires her, takes over the Company and tells Syler that she’s his mother.

After escaping from level 5, Noah goes back to his house and tells Claire that he has to capture fugitives so that she wouldn’t have to. To keep her and the family safe he invites Claire’s mom to the house.

Now, Mohinder Suresh. I wonder when he’s going to act like a real clever guy. He and Maya are living together now, and he’s still looking for a cure. Then he discovers that it’s not the blood, it’s the adrenaline glands! Instead of creating a cure, he creates a way to grant abilities to normal people. He decides to destroy the compound but no! Instead he injects himself with it and gains superpowers and starts acting like Spiderman. But the compound has its side effects and his starts to dissolve/melt.

Every ones favorite Hiro. He is now the head of his daddy’s empire but bored as hell. But luckily a tape arrives from his father. He now has the half of the formula which he should defend with his life. His father says “a chosen one among you who carries the purity of blood, the ‘light’ to safeguard against the darkness.” Probably this is something important, still trying to figure it out. As soon as the tape ends, a speedster named Daphne steals it from Hiro. He tries to freeze the time and take it back but Hiro’s trick doesn’t work on Daphne so she gets away. Hiro later on finds her home and learns that she’s a thief and she stole the formula for her “boss”. Between all these, Hiro goes to future to see what would happen if he didn’t get the formula back, and sees Ando betraying and killing him.

Here comes Niki, or Jessica, or wait what? Tracy? She is now working with a governor, all dressed up and powerful, looks like she has nothing to do with Niki/Jessica. Even better, she has a new superpower; freezing people! Way cooler than the other super powerful/2 personality thing. She comes to Nathan, offering a job at the congress and looks surprised when Nathan calls her Niki. We’ll see what that is all about.

Finally, remember all the guys that has escaped from level 5? If Sylar was a level 2, I really can’t imagine how bad these guys are. One gains strenght by others fears, one who’s a flame thrower, another and the most creepy one controls magnetic energy, and Jesse, whom as Noah Bennet described “you don’t wanna know.” We only know that he can manipulate sound and he Is actually present-day Peter Petrelli.

I’m really curious about these new guys and what they are all about. We didn’t see any Kenzei this week, hope he makes a comeback in next weeks episode.
