Nope, where have you been? “Peter has always had to come in contact with people to absorb their abilities.” When Pete had his original ability, he didn’t need to make contact with people to mimic his or her powers. He just needs to be near him/her. He might also not realised that he absorbed one’s power(s), as he auto-mimic anyone’s ability. He can also have as many abilities he want. But now, he needs to make contact and concentrate before replicating the ability. Plus, he can only hang on to one at a time. Do you even watch Heroes?

You could be right. But remember when Peter hit that soldier it was obvious he didn’t at that point possess Mohinders strength. Maybe he just has to relearn how to access previously enjoyed abilities, and that special effect they had for him when absorbed Tracey and Mohinders power didn’t happen when Mohinder grabbed saved him from being sucked out the plane… so we’ll see. I really hope they didn’t ruin him.

Question, why doesn’t Peter have a scar on his face after Arthur messed it up in the last season (remember he had lost his powers, so he wouldn’t have been able to heal himself). Second, why did the version of Peter from the future last season have a scar in the first place he hadn’t lost his gained healing powers?

I just thought it was the only power Peter could muster out him after being drugged up for so long. He wasn’t strong enough to just mimic the power from afar, so had to make physical contact with Mohinder to gain his strength.

OK .. Let start here .. Peter will always be superior to Sylar .. let me explai a few things .. if u paid attention to season 1 at all .. when peter start lerning his abilities .. he had to be around them .. touch them .. and witness the power .. very first time was with his brother .. Nathan .. he jumped but couldn’t fly .. remember Nathan had to catch him .. Then after being in his brothers arms he flew and caught his brother when he lost control .. Then claire .. He didn’t heal until after he came in contact with claire .. after a while he began to learn more about his own ability and how to harness the powers around him .. thats when he started collecting from soly being around them .. and remember he didn’t know he took ted’s power and was all surprise when his own hands started to glow .. everybody needs to shut up and pay attention to things .. im sure he can use all his powers at once .. and will learn to aborb again .. let him remember his ability .. I’m a true heroes fan .. i have all the seasons and most of season 3 episodes on my dvr .. so i reference before i speak .. Later

simply put. Peter has to re-learn how to use powers again,for now all he has to do now is touch them, or stand near them and use them invultarily, which was the fist aspect of his powers, until he got the chance to train and harness other dormant powers, and i guess he wuld av to b faced ina scenario in which he is forced to defend himself and he reluctantly draws out a power. im sure he has claires healing factor.

He never touched Ted Sprague. He stood next to him and got his ability.

As for last episode, they spelled it out that he lost mohinder’s ability once he touched tracy. I dont know if he has to relearn how to access those abilities or not, but when he punched the guy, it was evident that he did not have mohinder’s strength.

They also added a new animation when he touches people (it kind of looks like what arthur did), so its an element used to show that what he is doing may be different than he has done in the past.

One more time. He has to TOUCH the individual. He always had to. He can possess more than one ability like before. He could’ve fallen out of the plane but wanted to stay with the other Heroes, not just let them die. His absortion is involuntary, and it always has been.

Didn’t Peter have to witness someone’s ability in action before he could mimic it? If that’s the case, and now he can simply copy by touch, he can absorb powers more efficiently.

Also, is anyone else getting sick of Claire? Cause I hope she’s the one who wants to leave the show. And lastly, how was she able to go from being in a drugged induced lull and be able to chase down a plane in a matter of seconds?

These writers are really starting to try my patience.

ok so the new season is back i have to say that the first episode was a bit boring dont u think?

the only part that was intersting was sylar when he took out all of those govermant agents that was realy cool…

now rahul i think i know a few of your questions like:

Why must he touch (make direct contact with) the other individual?

im pretty sure that he took arthur ability to copy someone power by touch and now his using that power,i dont understand why sence his original power mimic is much better cos he just need to be around someone but i guess they wanted peter to have a new way to copy other ppl powers.

Can he or can he not possess two or more abilities at once (is his power absorption permanent)? I was thinking… couldn’t he just have fallen out and flown towards the plane again?

im pretty sure he can use how many powers he wants just like arthur did,he simply need to learn to control the original powere a bit more…

3. Is his absorption of abilities voluntary or involuntary? It did not seem that he knew he took Tracy’s ability

i dont know about tat,i guess he didnt knew what her ability is so it seems like he didnt knew he took tracy power…

That was one of the best episodes of heroes so far, I think. It has taken them a long time to get back on track, but I guess the writers finally realized what potential heroes still got and now make an awesome volume 4 this second half of 3rd Season.
This huge cliffhanger at the end was great. I’m looking forward to getting to know who, besides the season regulars (or maybe someone doesn’t make it ?), survived. Let’s hope some new people with never before seen abilities for Peter
I don’t think that it’s necessarily a bad thing Peter has to touch people to get their abilities now. The first thought that came to my mind was this touching thing is some sort of prestage or a variant form of his previous empathic ability. Remember Arthur needed to touch people to take powers away. So I think it is not too far-fetched.
However what I’m also a little bit concerned about is Peter got pretty much beaten up by the guard, after he got Tracy’s ability. It really seemed as if he didn’t have super-strength anymore and consequently no flying ability? Was that the reason why he didn’t let go of that netting at the end? We shall see. There is still hope for Peter
As an empath he was just able to use one power at a time, absorbing probably more at a time but actually using just one. Therefore when he gets a new ability now only this one is “activated” which leads me to the assumption the other abilities might still be there. Peter only needs to learn to control/use his new ability. Just like Claude needed to teach Empath-Peter how to control his new gained powers. Still, we shall see.
Can’t wait for the next episode and let’s hope Peter is still able of having more than just one power at a time, but if, let’s hope his actual touching power evolves somehow

I am not really ready to buy that he only can have one power at a time. We never had any demonstration that he lost super strength. In fact, he was holding on to that netting just fine.

If they change his power to one at a time and only by touching, then they really make him worthless. His ability to collect and have on hand multiple powers was the only thing that made him equal to Sylar.

If that ability is truly gone, then Sylar has no equal. And what point would Peter serve, other than duplicating others? I really hope they don’t f’up Peter. The touching thing (which is new, he only had to be close before…Remember how he met Claude) is already a bit of a demotion, though no different than how Sylar has to do it, technically. But overlapping powers is key.

I am also interested in what they do with Hiro.

I was also thinking that he could just fly towards the plane

People who say they are disappointed? What show are you watching?

I think some people just like to say things like that because they like to say the opposite of other people or just so they can have an extreme opinion?

We will see what happens in the next episode…. personally I think the touching was either symbolic to show them bonding or maybe he is not strong enuf to absorb more than one power… You have to remember… They drugged the Heroes…

Ya but he was only able to have one ability at a time, remember when Peter absorbed Tracy’s Ice power he no longer had Mohinders Super strength. I always like that Peter was the strongest. Plus Peter didn’t have to touch someone to get there power before he just needed to be close them.

So Peter has to touch people to absorb their abilities, and can only absorb one ability at a time? FUCKEN’ LAME!!!!! That combined with Hiro losing his powers, this show is going completely down the toilet. I am very disappointed….
