Eriko Tamura Offers Heroes Spoiler

eriko-tamura
Japanese actress Eriko Tamura, who played the 17th-century love interest of Hiro (Masi Oka) on NBC’s Heroes last season, offered SCI FI Wire a few spoilers about what’s next for her character as the show readies itself for a third season.

Tamura said that her character, Taeko, was supposed to be transported to the present in episodes that were scripted but not finished before the writers’ strike commenced last fall. “I am going to be in the present, yes,” Tamura said in an interview.

“I actually had a few episodes of the script then,” Tamura said, adding: “Suddenly, the strike happened, so we had to stop the shooting.”

Tamura added that she expects to return to the show for the upcoming third season, which begins production in May.

“We are not to that point where they think about the storylines yet … because of the strike,” Tamura said.

Taeko appeared last season in episodes in which Hiro, transported to Japan’s past, falls in love with her as he pursues a mission to save Japan. Heroes returns in the fall.

I think after reading the Kensai graphic novel he is waiting for his ‘wife’… could he have injected his blood into her making her immortal?? (or injects her if she dies, like when he put his blood into nathans IV drip to cure his burns)

awesome

@emma
i doubt it’ll make her immortal like “kensai” and why would he even want to save her? the “wife” he’s waiting for is probably nikki, another personality that is.

I have a feeling that Adam’s ‘wife’ is Mrs. Petrilli.

I think Adam would be just as surprised to see Taeko as Hero will be. I don’t know, however, if I like that she’s coming back. The show is getting a little to soap-opera-like with all of these amazing rescues from death and such . . ..

This sounds like the worst thing ever. Her character added next to nothing to the aborted season 2, why should we want to see her again doing the whole “token cardboard love interest” shit? Oh sure, we’ll have a few vague suggestions that she’s “feisty” and “independent” before having her fall back on Hiro/some other male to do everything and save her from stuff while she looks on adoringly. Oh, and there’ll be no suggestion that someone transported four hundred years into the future might be incredibly freaked out and unable to function in this society, because there never is.

Stop being utterly appalling, Heroes, you’re making me ashamed I ever considered myself a fan.

I was thinking the same thing, Jollity - if they do bring her to the present, will she have to spend most of every episode she’s in freaking out over cars, skyscrapers, computers, etc? Just magically transporting someone from 4 centuries ago to the present would be horribly traumatic, I would think.

I can’t help but wonder if this will be changed - she says that Yaeko was supposed to return in the pre-strike scripts. Personally, I kinda hope they take a step back and realize this is a baaad idea, and re-write the scripts, leaving Yaeko in the past where she belongs. She was never interesting to begin with.

Seriously, Hiro deserves a better storyline than this.

Liking Heroes the show, yes. Characters are good, good story. Strike of a writers is very ufortunate for not watching a shows. Missing Heroes is sad, yes. But next later we watch it again. We watch it all together. We got the date? When is it day to come back to TV? We know when days it to return? Who is my favorite character Claire but story not exitng this time. Last time was a good story but this time not existing. An inconvenence to a show is bad viewer who says. My friend makes Adam a character who is her favorite. Mans have same powers, yes? Both they have heal fix body power. Thank you for a show of Heroes NBC.

(Sorry for a bad English, my not learn good but am learning. No grammar is not learned but sorry for it)

Don’t worry Herko.

If your “English” was like this it would be a problem

“plzzz nt anuva love story

nd hiro is supposed 2 b da main star
bt season 2 didnt relli show dat

so cut out da love relationships
nd gt on wid sum action nd sum dramatic special effects”

Anyway, I can’t believe they are bringing her back…
Although I suppose Hiro could use all the help he can get.
