As you may know, Heroes Season 2 is planned 22-23 episodes long, but the first 11 were labeled as “Volume 2 – Generations”. The 11th episode, which will be aired on December 3rd, was planned to be the last episode of Volume 2 and the introduction to the second half of the season: “Volume 3″…
…unfortunately, that 11th episode may become the Season 2 Finale, because of the writers’ strike, again!
TvGuide’s Michael Ausiello just reported, Writers’ Strike Fallout: Heroes Prepping Season Finale :
Heroes’ second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers’ strike.
Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current “Generations” arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.
In related news, the reality of this whole thing is only now hitting me. And I’m not happy.

the writers are striking because the studios pay them shit for their royalties, they make about two cents for every twenty dollar dvd sold. maybe if all the studios weren’t such money grubbing pricks we wouldn’t have to go without heroes and every other show we’ll all be missing out on soon. you would think with 20 minutes advertising an hour, product placements during the shows, and the obscene amount they charge for series dvd’s they would have enough money to pay the people who create these stories enough to prevent a strike.

Actually, they did this on purpose, they wanted to split the season so there would be less of a wait time for the next episodes. So there is going to be 11 episodes and end in Dec. then the next set of 11 episodes will start in mid to late Jan. There was an interview right before the second season started and they talked about all this.
The cgi for volume 2 is quite bad, and i thought that isaac mendez’s sudden emergence of the ’series of 8′ thing was kinda lame. But other that that, there are still plenty of potential for heroes to live up to their high expectations, for now its just one of those times.. anyway, i hope most of you would think its a shame if it ends like this, and not ‘good riddance’

This strike issue will resolve eventually that’s for sure, big corporations needs them, even the movie studios are going to suffer because of this.
The thing that bothers me the most is the possibility of a change of the Generations original finale, I don’t want them to re-do it just because of this. I don’t want an half-ass done hurried finale.
I don’t understand… I don’t think the writing is really very good- it feels that the actors are doing as much as they can with the lines they are given at times. Why not just let the writers go and get some new ones who have a sense of humor? There are many other talented people out there.
I disagree. It would not be a serious television program if it had, as you say, a “sense of humor.” You seem like like only a quasi-heroes fan to me, trying to turn a great show into something that YOU will like more, at the expense of its base audience. Why should the show dumb itself down from the content it has now?
To the people bitching about the writers going on strike because their favorite show isn’t going to air – ZIP IT!
The writers are getting screwed with the current cut of profits that the studios are allowing to trickle down to them (and would be getting further screwed with a cut from digital releases)
They’re doing the right thing here. If you truly love the stuff you’re watching, then support the people who are writing it!
That said, in regards to Heroes specifically, you won’t see me losing any sleep if it doesn’t make it beyond its 11th episode threshold… Season 2 has been a huge failure thus far (and is only now getting back to the level of quality that the worst episodes of Season 1 set)
Also- The decision to split the season into two “volumes” wouldn’t have required to be made by Kring and Co. if they actually delivered in the season 1 finale. It wasn’t the buildup that was the problem- it was the delivery.
I say… Let the writers get what they want; they have that leverage. They CREATE; the rest just emulate. The television companies have enough money to go around. Let the writers be paid what they want.
Just wanna say… why do Heroes need this writers guild malarkie… Sack the lot of them there doing shit anyway i could do better… i’ll do it for half the wages.
All I have to say is that I agree that the first season finale was a let down and so far I have been holding my breath that the second season will take things up a notch (two seperate volumes in one season is a good way to start), but the writer’s are getting screwed for their work.
Everyone wants to think they can do better than those writers, and I’m not saying some of you couldn’t, but shit in one hand and wish in the other, you know?
The worst thing about the writer’s strike is that if it goes down, the spring is gonna suck large barrels of ass. There’ll be half a season of Sarah Conner, and half a season of 24. But you gotta get paid and you can’t fault the writers for trying to get justification just because you might be inconvenienced. You still have a job. The strike goes down, they won’t be making money until it’s over. So think about that before you shit on the writers.
Just read all the posts i agree with what people are saying about the CGI… lol its proper fake this season, no where near as good as the first part of season 1. You could see towards the end of season 1 that it was getting poor.

Season 1 finale – LOL how fake was it when HRG was TK’d by sylar, when peter was going radioactive when Hiro was TK’d away by sylar just to point out a few LOL!!!!
Season 2 – Hollywood Sign… Slightly fake but Acceptable…. very fake when clare jumps off and west flies to catch her. LOL!
Season 2 – HRG & The Haitian In Odessa – Ukrain / Russa, or where ever there supposed to be – LOL how fake was it when HRG was on the phone to Mohinder and their walking down a street.. BIG LOL was not believable at all
