As you may know, Heroes Season 2 is planned 22-23 episodes long, but the first 11 were labeled as “Volume 2 – Generations”. The 11th episode, which will be aired on December 3rd, was planned to be the last episode of Volume 2 and the introduction to the second half of the season: “Volume 3″…
…unfortunately, that 11th episode may become the Season 2 Finale, because of the writers’ strike, again!
TvGuide’s Michael Ausiello just reported, Writers’ Strike Fallout: Heroes Prepping Season Finale :
Heroes’ second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers’ strike.
Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current “Generations” arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.
In related news, the reality of this whole thing is only now hitting me. And I’m not happy.
Please help us spread the word…

Heroes better change their title to “heroes: a lesson on state-of-the-art computer graphics”
I watch heroes for its story, not for its computer graphics. I’d rather play final fantasy and admire all the CG’s there.
I agree it’s crap but they want royalitys for DVD’s etc so this is the reason. this will really bite it was just getting good. hope they can resolve this faster highers up need to start giving the little guys the money instead of them.
I totally agree with the graphics going down hill… but you have to say… your not actually watching the show for the graphics are you?? Tim Kring even said less money is put into special effects so that the story can build on character plots which i absolutely think make the show a whole lot better. Like, i only realized that the CGIs were going down hill because you guys kept mentioning it.
I agree with the new 8 paintings being lame though.
This is a shame, but you have to try and see it from the writers point of view. They are creating and expanding the stories that make these shows so good and they need recognition of their work too.
Anyway, Hollywood won’t let this last too long, it’s expected that a few months could cost them about 1 billion dollars. No company will take that on the chin out of principle. It’ll just mean they will charge people like us a few extra for a DVD or a online site will have a little more advertising.
Poxy that Heroes and other will suffer, after we having to wait a long time for Season 2 to come back, then this happens.
ITS FIREFLY ALL OVER AGAIN
please dont do this too me…writers please just write…or if not, then write them for me
also, I thought the season 1 finale was exactly how it should of been so to do dual volume finale’s kinda cuts the intricate work in my opinion
this is pure bullshit.
the writer’s strike is ridiculous only because it will affect my enjoyment of watching this show. if the 11th episode turns into the season 2 finale that i will be PISSED off beyond belief.
let’s all hope this strike is over before it causes any more damage.
I do love heroes… I just thought i’d point out the graphics as everyone was going on about it for a laugh.
The season will continue as followed. We will settle the problems before we stop for hiatus and will have the show back on in 2008.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
FREAKing A! I am very dissapointed in these writers’ actions, even though I do agree with their point in getting more money for their amazing work, I wish they didn’t make us suffer with them! A-HOLES! Or I wish they would go about this a different way…
Theres No Damn Writers Strike
It is a debate about the show making more money than it origonally planned to make and the writers asking for more
calm down people nothing to lose sleep over…
The writing may have stopped for now (which I agree with – the writers are the creative talent behind shows like this and they are NOT properly compensated) – but that doesn’t mean their brains have stopped functioning in regards to show material. I’m sure writers for this and other shows are still thinking about their projects. Imagine how much greater the quality of the content will be with writers thinking of the show over and over again during this time period, especially with no stress of having to get a script in. Their minds can just wander for now. The show will be better in the long run.
heya!!can sm1 tell, wethr thr is actual strike or not?
hope not,cuz cant wait for upcoming episodes…
Everyone is mistaking, heroes isn’t 22 episodes for second season, it’s 24 episodes.
11 episodes airs, 4 weeks off, 7 episodes airs, 3 weeks off and 6 last episodes airs for the season finale.
24 episodes, not 22.
