Heroes Volume 2 - Generations

Tim Kring said the other day that the upcoming season finale will introduce new characters that will become central to the story in the second season. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” Kring said. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of blush and discovery of these powers. And so, in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. And by extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”
By this logic, where the first season was called “Volume One: Genesis,” the second season will be called “Volume Two: Generations.”

“The idea of multiple generations has started to crop up on the show,” Kring said. “And in the second season we will deal with that more, hence the title, ‘Generations.’ … The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season. And we thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself, so that you had to watch 23 episodes before, It would be harder for a new viewer to find the show. And we always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join if they want.”

Kring confirmed that the season will have a cliffhanger ending, but one that will be more intreging then frusterating….he hopes “No, I think it’ll be intriguing more than frustrating,” he said. “The idea was to end one idea of the show, one story, and then slingshot you into the next season.” (via Sci Fi Wire)

man was i dissapointed with the season finale, the fight was horrible. Why couldnt claire just shoot him, he can regenerate? and why couldnt he fly himself, unless the nuclear power took control of him? And two cliffhangers, Sylar, presumably dragged into the sewers? and Hiros dad as his idol, lol.

Response to Bryan:
I agree with you, The finale was very disappointing. Even if Claire shot him he would have have deff regenerated. And why couldn’t Nathan have flown Peter up into the air and just let him go. Sylar has to be dead…how else can he be alive. He cannot heal himself. The question is…who was that little girl talking about when she said that there is someone worse than Sylar?

very disappointed with the season finale, i agree with Bryan, Peter could have just flew himself into space blew up then regenerated or whatever he dies… or Clair could have shot him in the heart to knock him out. And on top of it the battle between Sylar and Peter that we have all been waiting for since the beginning of the season was to put it lightly pathetic… Oh well if i could chang ethe past like Hiro I would write something more exciting :)

I had big hopes for the finale and it was “kind of” a let down. I honestly don’t like the concept of changing the characters because I am attached to them. I think the show would have been more interesting if peter had self destructed because the future episode was so intense. Especially when Peter and Sylar faced off. The finale was a put down because I was ready for New York to blow up. Only one part of the finale that caught my eye was when the tracker girl told the Indian guy that there is a man far worse than Sylar. It seemed fishy to me HRG changed the subject so quick. One question I really need answered is; what happened to the man who was teaching Peter and who is he?

first off nathan may not have killed himself…think about it they never show either after the explosion…he could have dropped him and zoomed off when he was high enough….the next thing is that someone either helped sylar escape…or one of sylars unknown powers help him stay alive…its all basically just theories now but can’t wait for generations…but i am more curious how they will blend the past and present…who is the person molly talked about..are the supposed dead actually dead…and what powers will the newbies have…

i dont know where did they came with the last episode it left more questions that answers….like the author wants cuz then he can keep the show and the comic selling…the only thing that all my prediction got a lil bit crazy his simone´s dad haves powers…and eh!

Well, Nathan may have done just that - flown him up and let him go and got away alive. We don’t know yet. And, Peter still may regenerate and fall back to earth and be alive. They did leave it pretty open-ended. I do agree that the fight scene was pathetic. Sylar stops bullets but then lets himself get hit with a parking meter (he couldn’t hear her sneaking up on him?!?!?). Then the punches from Peter, and then can’t stop Hiro from running 10 steps toward him and stabbing him? What’s with that? Its like Sylar wanted to be beaten. I don’t get it.

It was never supposed to be about the fight. It wasn’t ever going to be about Sylar vs. Peter. Or Sylar vs. Hiro.

This entire season has been about Nathan and Peter. From beginning to end. From top to bottom.

Sure, he could have come back from Claire shooting him, but that was never going to happen, because he could just lose control again. That is why Claire couldn’t shoot him, because it wasn’t going to be temporary. They were going to leave the bullet in.

Sure, he had the ability to fly, but odds are he couldn’t control it. If Peter cannot focus enough to stop from exploding, how do you think he is going be able to focus to fly?

Nathan was the only one who had a choice in this matter: Power for himself, at the cost of what makes Peter so special (love). Or saving the world, at the cost of his own life.

He chose the latter, and a brilliant ending to a brilliant season was made.

The man who was teaching Peter is Isaac’s girlfriend’s father, who Peter was taking care of when he was still a hospice nurse. I am not completely convinced Nathan is dead…you never saw a dead body, who is too say he didn’t just fly him up high and then let go? Maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part, but it is possible…

Yes, Nathan is dead. That was the whole point! If Nathan isn’t dead, then it negates the power and emotion behind the final scene between him and his brother.

He knew it would kill him, but he did it anyway, because of his love for his brother. If you think he just let go of Peter once he was high enough, then you missed the whole point of the finale.

Peter will be back. Remember future Peter? He was the bomb and he was still alive. Of course, he might exile himself to a remote location until he gets a better grip on his ability. So we might not see him for a while, but he’ll be back.

Yeah, Nathan is obviously dead. But is Peter? I’m thinking no, because in the alternate future where the bomb goes off, Peter did it but he was alive, only leaving a scar. I guess if he fell from that high anyway, he wouldn’t die, as he can regenerate.
