Tim Kring said the other day that the upcoming season finale will introduce new characters that will become central to the story in the second season. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” Kring said. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of blush and discovery of these powers. And so, in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. And by extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”
By this logic, where the first season was called “Volume One: Genesis,” the second season will be called “Volume Two: Generations.”
“The idea of multiple generations has started to crop up on the show,” Kring said. “And in the second season we will deal with that more, hence the title, ‘Generations.’ … The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season. And we thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself, so that you had to watch 23 episodes before, It would be harder for a new viewer to find the show. And we always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join if they want.”
Kring confirmed that the season will have a cliffhanger ending, but one that will be more intreging then frusterating….he hopes “No, I think it’ll be intriguing more than frustrating,” he said. “The idea was to end one idea of the show, one story, and then slingshot you into the next season.” (via Sci Fi Wire)

Sylar grabbed the comic from Ando during this episode. He had time to prepare for a stab wound to the chest because he read the comic. Nathan is dead. Peter lives. Peter is too vital to the show to be killed off.
Was the samurai at the end one of Hiro’s ancestors? Very curious who did Molly Walker allude to that was worse than Sylar?
Well, I hate to say it, but Sylar isn’t dead. Kring admitted as much saying that Sylar was going to play an integral part in the next season as well. It was during one of the cast commentaries during an episode I believe.
The ending was so obvious! It played out almost exactly as I expected. I was disappointed in the fight between Peter and Sylar. I think that most of the heroes will show up next season, but only in memories or through time travel by hero. People were expecting Simone to have some large part to play in all of this, but it seems that she is just plain dead! I say that Kring only brings the characters back as needed, and Peter and Sylar will only play peripheral roles.
I think Molly was referring to the man who first tried to kill her during the time when she was first introduced in the show. At first, I thought it was Sylar, but then Parkman shot him a couple of times and then he miraculously stood up and walked away. How did he know how to find Molly in the first place? So she must have tried to locate him – that’s how he knew how to find her.
When the camera zoomed out of Sylar’s eyes he was still using Isaac’s powers. If he’s alive in the sewers he could just as easily be the bomb.
Can someone please shead some light on this: did it look like George Takei was playing Takeo Kensei?
Bah! All of you nay sayers! Stop watching if you’re soooo “disappointed.”
The purpose of this show was to point out that ordinary people with unique abilities can actually make a difference in a world full of hate, corruption, and tragedy.
And above all else, love conquers all.

This show will last for several seasons, and guess what people, we will see Sylar and Peter finally face off (the true face off) once more.
Charles Deveaux should be one of those people who play an integral role later on in season 2. He is the good, the righteous, where Linderman was the evil.
Its classic. Sylar was evil, yet he believed he was the hero (by taking powers, and preparing to stop what was coming). Peter… believed in something more, loved unconditionally, and was every sense of the word “good.”
When everyone saw Peter, and saw who he really was (good), you had Niki Sanders, who was worried only about her son and DL, assist him. Everyone believed…
Figure out the meanings here…
Season two now will introduce the same good vs evil scenario. The same one Charles spoke of. Now we will have another “Sylar” and another “Peter” to talk about.
All I can say about this season, is GG.
If Nathan is not dead now – he will be. We see future Cylar disguising himself as Nathan…when Nathan was the President. The only way Cylar can disguise himself is if he kills Candace. We didn’t see Nicki kill Candace in the finale, only knock her out. We also saw Cylar paint himself in his mother’s apartment saying he was going to be President. I think Nathan’s dead, Cylar will kill Candace, assume Nathan’s identity (becoming President) and Claire will have a bigger role in the future. She really didn’t have any importance in this season except to give Peter the ability to regenerate…which we know he can survive AFTER the bomb since we saw him in the future.
I dont think nathan is dead….its not against the point of the show to think that if nathan flies them up high enough and tosses him and flies away…….but flies back after the blast and catches him and flies them back…..i think sylar isnt dead either but i dont think hell be able to survie in the sewers for very long with a knife wound through his gut….but i do agree that the fight scene was a little bad the whole hiro stabbing him from that far way, he can stop bullets but not a little chubby guy……but its all speculation….good show and great finale can’t wait for Volume 2
I think Syler is dead and if hes not dead and made is way down to the sewers he will not die down there its kinda obvious cause they wouldn’t have made that scene.
I think Nathan is dead i dont think he would take the chance to trow Peter and even if he did he would get anniliated by the bomb or get knocked unconcious by the shockwaves and fall to the ground and die. He wouldnt have enough time to fly away.
Well thats my teories.
Sylar is not dead somehow, peter also not dead but nathan is surely dead.
Why the fight was terrible is because they can only activate their powers one by one i think. Cant remember sylar uses 2 or more powers at once as also peter. That is why he can’t fly while he was glowing and sylar can’t hear while he was using his telekinetic.
But yeah again its just theories
perfect ending
Nathan could still be alive. Although he probably couldn’t (and wouldn’t) fly away in time, Mohinder Suresh’s file on Nathan (seen in ‘The Fix’) appears to list Nathan’s powers as Human Flight Potential and Teleportation. If he can teleport, then he could have done it involuntarily just before the explosion took place. Even if he did, however, he would almost certainly die due to the high levels of radiation he must have been exposed to.
Peter should survive, as he survived in the future seen by Hiro in ‘Five Years Gone’ despite having exploded then.
The person refered to by Molly may have some form of telepathic abilities, in order to sense that she is ‘looking’ at him, and so that he can ’see’ her.
i also think that peter isnt dead but the five years gone episode was a “what if” future, the main line in the finale was, “the future is not set in stone” so anything could happen, Kring has left it wide open which is smart on his behalf
I think the worse man then syler, must be Peter’s mom or that guy Peter took care of him when he was a doctor.
Sylar is definitely not dead, if you look to the every last scene, you’ll come back to Mohinder’s first opening scene discussing human evolution and that the lowly cockroach would most likely be god’s image. Now the last scenes of the second volume is a definite sign that what ever symbolizes the eclipse is very sinister being. In japanese culutre eclipse’s back then were seen as sign of impending doom and end of times due to the fact that their one main goddess was Amaretsu of the sun. I can’t wait for the next season and this will most likely be far better.
