Tim Kring said the other day that the upcoming season finale will introduce new characters that will become central to the story in the second season. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” Kring said. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of blush and discovery of these powers. And so, in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. And by extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”
By this logic, where the first season was called “Volume One: Genesis,” the second season will be called “Volume Two: Generations.”
“The idea of multiple generations has started to crop up on the show,” Kring said. “And in the second season we will deal with that more, hence the title, ‘Generations.’ … The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season. And we thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself, so that you had to watch 23 episodes before, It would be harder for a new viewer to find the show. And we always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join if they want.”
Kring confirmed that the season will have a cliffhanger ending, but one that will be more intreging then frusterating….he hopes “No, I think it’ll be intriguing more than frustrating,” he said. “The idea was to end one idea of the show, one story, and then slingshot you into the next season.” (via Sci Fi Wire)

and you people up there need to understand! peter can only use one power at a time.
and if claire shot him he would have exploded. he has to be shot in a certain point, where the glass went through his head and the branch through Claires.
Also, he was already using the radiation powers, so he couldn’t use any other one.
Claire shooting Peter would not have helped, we all saw what happenned when Ted who had control of his power got shot at Noah’s place, he almost detonated lol
In the future people believed that Sylar was responsible for the bomb but little did they know it was Peter as we all know and that is why Hiro was told to save the cheerleader (so Sylar can not regen) and then kill Sylar.
I believe Sylar knows how to live after being killed (I know it sounds retarded) but in Episode 1 Mohinder does say the cockroach is resistant to radiation and can live for days without it’s head, maybe this has something to do with him living twice when he should have died (once at the prima tech and once at the finale where both times the cockroach makes an appearance)
Peter absorbs power, so he would have the power of Hiro too, why didn’t he go himself in the past to stop Sylar?
Sylar saw what would happen, remember at mendez’house when he saw the future without painting it! so he had a plan to escape. How? Don’t know but we’ll see in volume 2.
I also want to know the worst guy? Who is he or she?
Claire couldn’t kill Peter! Her brother, her hero.
For me it’s a fantastic show, better than the rest. Hopefully volume 2 will come soon.
ok seriously now, how duz peter get a big ass scar on his face? he can regenerate cuts! so maybe it was left by something way more powerfull then he can come back from
Who Knows when heroes volume 2 Generations begins? please let me know Thanks!!! Brada Bong!!!
heroes finale SUCKED!! i’m not watching anymore!
I was very sad that sylar did not kill peter. Sylar is the best person on the show!
sylar him self isdead as you can tell cos if you watch his eyes he uses his power to c his future and all he can see is him on the floor which means he has no future. peter is not ded but clair cud of only shot him in the back of the head cos he can only not regen when his brain is damaged like with the glass but his brain is gona go boom with the rest so realy he can not regen but it would be point les to kill him. sylars body in the sewer wil be either be the guy molly was on about eihter wanting to take sylars power or it will be cos this guy does not hav a body n that is y molly can not find him. nathen should be ded since he rly hasent dun much but im not quite sure
and the reason peter does not fly is because he ses he can not control any of his powers atthat point
really nice thinking Willock, that makes really sence , especially with about that guy Molly was talking about.
“with” has to be removed*
A few things; the first is Pete couldn’t fly because he couldn’t control his powers,
second is Nathan is dead-accept it. My guess is he kept flying with Peter as high as he could before it blew up-he didn’t know how long until Peter would blow so he stayed with him until it did.
third is Sylar is alive in one way or another, they wouldn’t show his blood leading to the sewers if there was no point to it.
fourth in my own opinion in Generations the man Hiro saw I think was Kensei, i heard the other guys calling something and it sounded like Kensei.
Finally-To those who think the bomb should have gone off- Kreing wanted to make the show beleivable, not the whole xmen deal where they all ally together and become superheroes and the whole world knows about them, their average people who somehow get these strange powers and try to deal with them. Even in the end noone knows they have powers-the bomb going off would not flow with the rest of the show.
Also Mollys mysterious villain will be a new character with probable realations to Sylar or another character and though I agree Peters alive, won’t he just go nuclear again?
OMG!!! Will you people stop winging and whinning. I reckon the ending was what it was. The ending. It was great, and ended the best way possible. I think you all didnt like it, just because it was the last episode, and truthfully nothing could make you happy, because the whole time you were watching it, all you were thinking about was “man, this is it for another year…”
I believe Tim wrote and created an amazing show. Many of you just think the show is very open and close. Who was thrown off by the fact Peter was inside his own dream???? For all we know Peter and Nathan both survived.
Also as for Sylar, he can predict the future now, REMEMBER!!!. So who says he new that to get stronger he had to be beaten this time. The whole, good guys won the battle but they havent won the war mentality. I think you all need to realise. That this is a tv show, its awesome.
If you can’t accept it and want to complain, then go watch a show like ‘Lost’ which tells you nothing all season and then leaves you on a cliffhanger that they don’t ever answer.
PEACE OUT
You guys keep talking about the future that we saw…This might not even happen now because the present has changed, the bomb didn’t go off in the city which would change events dramatically in the future. I do think Nathan’s dead though…
Also i think that Sylar and this new villain will be in the next volume because it wouldn’t have shown the blood or open manhole. Cheers, x
Why would you be disapointed? if you wanted the ending you would like, there would be no season 2.
GREAT ending, and great show! gg
WOW – I’m from the UK & we’re only on episode 16 as of next Monday, but I’ve watched all episodes online. I’m really addicted to it! What a great show & a credit to the cast, crew & Tim Kring!
The season finale was awesome, however, I was slightly disappointed with the ‘final’ fight between Peter & Sylar…but something most definitely is telling me it’s not the last fight they will have.
Sylar is ‘dead’ – but something/someone has dragged him into the sewer for a purpose..maybe he’ll return stronger than ever. The fact that he looked into the future as he was dying & just saw himself lying on the floor dying is a huge indication of this. The question I have is, how did Sylar know where to find Molly on 2 occasions – the first being at Molly’s house where her parents were killed (assumed by Sylar – and Molly says it was the ‘boogeyman’)when Matt Parkman discovered he could hear peoples thoughts & the 2nd time when we see Sylar (with his baseball cap on before his face was ever revealed)try to kidnap Molly from the FBI building before Parkman (& the blond female FBI agent who’s name escapes me) managed to stop him. Did he have help from someone else to find Molly?
It’s clear that everyone’s abilities are passed on genetically by their parents, so did either of Molly’s parents have any abilities? If so, did Sylar (or whoever killed her parents) take their ability? Molly said to HRG & Mohinder that whenever she tracks the person “worse than Sylar” she says “He” can see her…I think that this new hero/villain is going to play a huge part in Vol.2.
Peter is NOT dead & I dont think Nathan is dead either…I think it’s a red herring to throw us into believing they are dead….and we know they’ve signed up for the next season.
Something is also telling me that we maybe havent seen the last of Linderman…but this could my imagination running away from me, so I wont elaborate on that! lol.
I think that when Peter ended up on the roof when he ‘blacked out’ was in actual fact Peter using Hiro’s teleportation ability & ended up in the past, but was also using his ability of being invisible & only Charles could see him (Did Charles have an ability to see him?)Dont think it was a dream – I could be way off the mark with this theory!
Hiro in the 17th Century – This has got to be the Kensei storyline they will run & potentially Hiro may get more training by the Samurai’s or even Kensei himself (How cool would that be?!?!)
As for other theories on the next season..well, it’s too hard to just guess as I’m sure the writers will come up with something extra special to keep us just as hooked as we have been during Vol.1.
BRING ON VOL.2 – GENERATIONS ON 24TH SEPTEMBER 2007!!!!
