According to reliable sources: Nathan, Peter and Sylar will be back during Heroes Season Two. One of the articles announcing the news comes from E! Online Kristin. Here’s in her own words:
What Lies Ahead
Spoiler Alert! I have it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) will be back next season. I’m also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) will be back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman’s blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.Glug! Glug! The script called for Nathan to drop Peter into the ocean after he exploded, which should explain my “swim” reference in today’s chat. We’ll see next season if that is indeed where P.P. landed.
Spoiler Alert Part Deux! I’m told next season will begin four months into the future and two of the main characters will be in deep despairâ€â€?one having completely lost his memory (bring on the Bourne Identity storyline!) and the other having developed a major drinking problem. Told ya Sylar wasn’t this show’s only demon.
Did I Mention Hiro Will Be in 17th-Freaking-Century Japan? That’s just awesome! I’m hearing it could be as many as six episodes that he’ll spend there. Sans Ando.

cool!
memory lost?…who could it be?sylar?peter?…i wish i could teleport to september 24.
Either Matt or Nathan will be the alcoholic. Peter will be the one with the memory loss I reckon.
The fight between Peter and Sylar could have been better. I dont like how they make Peter out to be a bitch. He is a bad ass hero. I have more confidence in his character than he has in himself….
Sylar needs to die….new bad guy please!
I knew Peter be back…i wonder if the reason Nathan survived is he has the powers of everyone like Peter. It is his brother….
And Hiro…man this must be where he learned his skillz…member in the future he was trained in martial arts…
Season 2 should be interesting….
The one who lost his memories could be Sylar. And that is the way to bring him to the good side
Just because they are back doesn’t mean they will be in the current time line. Next season is called “Generations” and we already know that it is going to deal with events in the past. So it could be that Nathan is reprising a role from pre-Season 1.
Further, I think it will totally ruin the point of the finale if Nathan is still alive. Its called a sacrifice for a reason.
I think Peter will become alcoholic since Nathan will die. The one with the memory loss would be Sylar since he’ll lose a lot of blood and some guy in the sewer will take care of him. He then wakes up with amnesia and re-discoers his stolen powers.
But then again, Hiro should’ve killed Sylar, decapitated him with his sword but he didn’t. Why? because the writers said so. There wouldn’t be season 2 without Sylar. Sometimes the Heroes characters act dumb. I hope the writing gets better on Season 2.
did anybody read the article?

if they didn’t show that scene it means they want us to believe Nathan is dead.
I don’t care for Nathan: dead or alive it doesn’t make a difference to me. I’m pleased to know Sylar is not lost, alive or his body scavenged by Linderman or Linderman’s associates or cockroach doesn’t matter, he’ll be around next season, that’s all that matters.
So didn’t we see the big flash in the sky as Peter exploded? That seems to go against the drop in the ocean theory and that either Peter or Nathan are still alive post-explosion.
Not that I want to see them gone, I really like the storyline with Nathan’s internal struggle of good vs. evil.
cool alternate ending for season 1:
hiro teleports peter somewhere where there is no people… (lets say… syberia, tunguska
) but he screws ups and takes him 100 (99 years
) years back…to lets say 30. 05. 1908….. searching on wikipedia for that date… oh!!! look… strange-never explained explosion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_explosion
ups.. sry… 30.06.1908
I think Sylar is dead and in the next season, the villain will be the one Molly said that he’s the only one she can’t locate in the final episode. To me Peter and Nathan is not(should not be) dead.So Peter might be alcoholic and Nathan memory loss.
Lastly, I think it wasn’t a good and exciting final for a story like this, it should have been much better. Anyway I like it very much that will make me wait with a great impatiance for the next season.Ohhh i forgat Hiro,my hero, i think that’s where he has trained in martial arts and learnt how to fight. Maybe he is the Kensei.
maybe parkman has memory loss from being shot, but i think peter’s the alcoholic since he still may have guilt
I didn’t think the season finale was that great. I was expecting a much bigger and better battle between Peter and Sylar, as it was now I think their brief encounter in episode 19 (where Sylar actually kills Peter by shattering pieces of glass all over the room) was way cooler.
As to season 2 I think it’s obvious that both Peter and Nathan will live on. Too many clues have been handed out regarding their parents for us not to find out more about them, and since the next season is about elder generations, what would be the point in exploring what Peter and Nathan’s parents’ powers are (and were), and who they really are (and were) if Peter and Nathan are both dead?
And besides Peter is the coolest character ever. I think we will find out more about the strange dreams he’s been having throughout season 1, and why.
I think Sylar is the one with the memory loss, so the bad ass villain mentioned by the little girl tracking system can get a greater part initially.
I really hope for the Matt character to be killed off because I think he’s unbeleivably boring, but hey if he stays on I bet he’s the one with the drinking problem. His boring wife has probably left him.
Interesting…
What intrigues me is who we saw the explosion if Peter was dropped in the ocean. I guess they’ll explain that as “coming from the water” next season. I knew that Peter wouldn’t be killed off. He’s one of the most popular characters and actors on the show.
I don’t care if Nathan lives, but if so I hope he’s one who has a problem. He caused enough garbage this past season.
