According to reliable sources: Nathan, Peter and Sylar will be back during Heroes Season Two. One of the articles announcing the news comes from E! Online Kristin. Here’s in her own words:
What Lies Ahead
Spoiler Alert! I have it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) will be back next season. I’m also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) will be back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman’s blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.Glug! Glug! The script called for Nathan to drop Peter into the ocean after he exploded, which should explain my “swim” reference in today’s chat. We’ll see next season if that is indeed where P.P. landed.
Spoiler Alert Part Deux! I’m told next season will begin four months into the future and two of the main characters will be in deep despairâ€â€?one having completely lost his memory (bring on the Bourne Identity storyline!) and the other having developed a major drinking problem. Told ya Sylar wasn’t this show’s only demon.
Did I Mention Hiro Will Be in 17th-Freaking-Century Japan? That’s just awesome! I’m hearing it could be as many as six episodes that he’ll spend there. Sans Ando.

Is Candice dead or not cause Niki kicked her pretty hard. Is Sylar alive or not cause i dont get the blood trail into the sewer thing. and guys Nathan is so dead!!!
I think that Adrian Parman will be back but not portraying Nathan, but Sylar. If Sylar survive he may take Candice powers and pretend to be nathan so he could be in congress. Peter surely survive after the explosion. We already know that ’cause he is alive in 5 five later. If he regenerated and later hit the ground doesn’t make a difference.
I think that the person with the memory loss, is Linderman. Because people are saying some how he could come back. Since parts of his brains are pulled out by D.L., he might have memory loss. And the person with the drunken problem could be Sylar. Because of his “mission” lost and his plans so schrewed up, he wouldn’t care about his powers and life. Which leads to drinking problems!
Memories lost = Hatian? Can it be?
Drnking Problem = Nathan(if he’s alive, hope so) or Officer Parkman… Ando?
Or maybe Nathan loses his memory due to the crash, when he lands ( :S ) and Peter gets himself some booze…
Unlikely scenario:
… Nikki starts drinking AGAIN because she misses Jessica
Sylar loses his memory and becomes on of the Heroes… Sylar’s the man…
:S
Dunno

There’s nothing to say Nathan won’t have burns next season.
It wouldn’t have made sense for Peter to be stronger or more controlled than Sylar (yet). If he had kicked his &*$#!, then he should have had enough control over his power to stop himself from exploding. I think we’ll see Claude again next season to help Peter learn to fully control his powers. He’ll be able to control his “real” power and due to his nature, prevent himself from absorbing every power he comes in contact with realizing the dangers. He’ll sorta limit himself which is what Peter’s character needs unless the writers intend for him to become “all powerful” (Uluru maybe?).
I think the writers originally intended for Peter and Sylar to have the final big battle, but they decided to appease fans by not ending everyone’s story this season. I myself would rather see Peter confident and in full control of his powers before facing Sylar for a final battle next season.
Things I wonder:
If the dragon in the Kensai story is symbolic….
Hiro’s dad = the dragon?
Hiro = the dragon?
IS the lone warrior Kensai and does he already have powers? If not, does the eclipse have something to do with the creation of the first “hero”.
If Sylar can manipulate matter, then theoretically, can he can stop his bleeding?
There’s no point in wondering who the drunk will be or who’ll lose their memory. Anything we come up with is pure speculation at this time with nothing to base off of.
Would be cool if it was Sylar with the amnesia and he’d join up with the S1 Heroes after “re-discovering” his powers =)
They’re also saying they’d introduce new, important S2 characters in the final episode. Im thinking Hiro’s father & Molly Walker.
One thing i haven’t seen mentioned before is the whole “Past” season of heroes that has already been developed troughout the series.
Several characters have talked about that in their past there was a group of heroes who tried to change the world, but some split off and used their powers for their own gain. Im talking Linderman, Charles Deveaux, MR & Mrs. Petrelli (Peter & Nathans parents) & Hiro’s Father. All of them are implied to have powers of themselves, and all of them seem to have been part of that “past group of heroes” that has been implied over and over.
Btw, after Grandma Petrelli was talking to Bennett about that “they” handed Claire over to Bennett, i seemed to remember that the guy who handed over Claire to Bennett in one of the flash-backs was Hiro’s father?
Are all of the people i mentioned (Linderman, Charles Deveaux, MR & Mrs. Petrelli (Peter & Nathans parents) & Hiro’s Father) part of the Company, and would it exist to prevent new heroes from doing what they did themselves in the past?
Either way, im quite sure that those people all have powers, were connected in the past as is implied loads of times, and that we’ll see this whole history in season 2
I think I know what Hiro’s Father’s power is. Hiro’s Dad is immotal. Hiro’s dad is Kenzei from the story. The story said that Kenzei stabbed his heart when the dragon asked for his love. The dragon was impressed at what Kenzei did so the dragon gave Kenzei his heart so he could be immortal.
Just look at the season 2 preview. Look at the lone Japanese Knight’s eyes. It looks like Hiro’s dad.
You know what I think happened? I think that Nathan lets go of Peter right before he explodes and flys away. Meanwhile, Peter’s inertia (you know, car stops quickly, you fly foward) keeps him going and then he explodes, loses momentuem and falls. Nathan, who live have been far enough away to survive the kaboom, flys back and scoops Peter, then drops him into the ocean. But because I think “going nuclear” would drain a person alot, peter will be to tired to swim, pass out, and then maybe get rescued by some random ship.
Then that leaves for Peter to develope memory loss because of the whole drowning thing and not remember who the heck he is, so he cant find Nathan to tell him that hes alright. And then Nathan will feel guilty because he’ll think that he killed Peter by dropping him into the great pond and turn alcholic.
i think everyone forgets one thing….candice worked for the company…that was a linderman with mama petrelli…if nathan is killed mama petrelli would want to continue the plan…nathan is still a congress man…if she has candice play nathan they continue there plan…sylar could kill candice later but i think this would make more since if nathan did die
syler dided in the last episode something/someone draged him down the drain hense the mud on the drain
but ho or what was it ? could it be the new villan that the tracker knew about or could it be someone/thing else i cnt w8 for season 2
i dnt think nathan will be back in since he blew up (big booom) peter should be back in tho since it said he can heal evn if he blows up but if they take him out their gona have to make up something
gota have peter back in tho wouldnt be heroes without him…
here’s my theory: peter OR nathan (i’m gonna guess nathan has a more likely chance) lose their memory from the “fall” back to earth. i think it’s nathan. and as for the drinking, i’m gonna root for matt or mohinder, i don’t know why. and sylar DEFINITELY will not die; just cause they showed the cockroach. it’s a symbol to show that he’s the most evolved out of all the heroes, and you have to remember he couldn’t die from all the drugs when HRG and the company had him, and he was less powerful than. so he won’t die. just my thoughts =D
OMG!!
I Can’t believe none of you guys figured it out yet!
LOL…
You all got it either fully or partially wrong…
WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!
Well, first of all, haven’t you guys noticed that the Finale Episode and all that Peter going to explode crisis happens at night?
In Peter’s Dream about him exploding and when Hiro first teleported 5 weeks into the future where he sees the explosion from Isaacs loft, it is clearly shown that the explosion occurs during the day! And more importantly, the day after Nathan’s election!
The Season Finale happens the night of the election… So I guess by now you guys should’ve probably figured out the direction I am heading…
As I have predicted ever since we saw glimpses of the future through Peter’s, Hiro’s and Isaac’s eyes, the future we saw in episode 20 (Five Years Gone) will eventually happen without doubt.
Let’s think of this for a while.
Hiro and Isaac, and later Peter, all wanted to fix the future by altering key events in the past (or present) and especially Hiro, by telling peter in the subway to save the cheerleader and save the world. But the fact or possibility of changing the future is nothing but an illusion, so this would mean that changing the future is impossible.
Furthermore, if the future was really changed through the actions of Hiro (and Peter) this would counter the fact that those Heroes could see the future in the first place, leading to the fact that Neither Hiro nor Isaac could either time-travel or paint the future because if the future was really changed by Hiro, then Isaac’s painting won’t be considered as paintings of the future anymore and Hiro himself never did travel into future.
So, what I am actually saying is that when a specific future event is foreseen by one of the heroes, then it cannot be avoided and it will happen, otherwise the Hero who would have claimed that he/she saw the future wouldn’t be able to see the future in the first place. (All that could also be explained through scientific methods using quantum physics, but no need to go into such details).
Anyway…
Back to the Storyline after the aerial explosion of peter…
Nathan will somehow survive (most of the Nathan survival theories brought to us by previous posters are very much possible), in the mean time sylar will manage to heal himself and probably acquire some more powers on the way (including Candice’s shape-shifting ability)… And on the next day, the day after the election, Peter will lose control again, this time someone somehow would have alerted citizens of an possible explosion beforehand, which explains the abandoned cars on the streets in Peter’s dream, and having done this before, Nathan comes towards Peter proposing his help as he did the night before, but this time Peter loses control too early, before Nathan has the chance to pick him up, resulting in the explosion of New York City…
So the future is inevitable.
AND everything we saw in chapter 20 will certainly happen, and if not, then the producers of Heroes will be defying the laws of logic and quantum physics…
Season 2 will take us back to the past for a while to reveal the origins of the Heroes, and then take us back to the actual time the day after Nathan’s election, or perhaps will alternate between past and present throughout the whole season. Anyway, the way it’s done doesn’t really matter, what really matters is that it happens.
I think I have said enough for today…
I will be checking back on that forum thread every once in a while, so don’t hesitate to ask questions, I will be glad to answer, and perhaps give more details if anyone needs further explanation…
I Think 4 Months Is Too Long For Next Season..The FANS Can’t WAIT!!What Happen To Peter,Nathan&Sylar!!
This is just a question or two so feel free to scrutinize. It was so out of character for Nathan to save Peter. I mean what did all the heroes do that made Nathan want to save the world? He would’ve done this anyway.
5 years into the future, the future Hiro wondered why saving Claire didn’t stop New York blowing up. So what was it that changed Nathan’s mind?? Is it that line about ‘the future isn’t set in stone’ that explains why New York was saved? It just seems like a cop-out. If that was the case then there would be no future for Hiro to travel to as it cannot be defined. Do sitcom writers write for this show or something???
Edit: Revelation, you’ve answered my question before I asked it! There must be another ‘real’ explosion the day after. And Nathan must live because in the future Sylar could fly, which means he must have had the opportunity to kill him.
