I agree with you 100%, besides we already know that most ‘heroes’ (and friends) will die in the explosion. That unless Hiro succeeds in his mission: go five year in the future, learn what went wrong and go back to the present -at the right moment - and prevent the explosion.

It’s also possible that what happened
in the ‘Future Hiro’ timeline is not
what’ll happen in ‘Present Hiro’ timeline.
So both guesses might be correct.

Surley Peter will gain candice’s ability then mascarade as sylar whilst he blows himself up thats why when hiro stabbed him (in the novel) He regenerated when we have proof that the future claire is not dead.
