WGA strike end

February 12th, 2008 11:16 PM ET

LOS ANGELES — Striking Hollywood writers voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to end their 100-day strike against producers that essentially shut down the entertainment industry.

The strike is over. Our membership has voted, and writers can back to work,” said Patrick Verrone, president of the Writers Guild of America, West.

Writers will be back at their keyboards Wednesday after more than 92 percent of them voted in Los Angeles and New York to end their work stoppage over residuals for writing in the digital age, including so-called new media and the Internet.
