I believe that peter through his sponge-like ability he’s accidentally tapping the radioactive mans powers. The one that killed his wife and got taken away. I think he is close underground and maybe Peter taps his power by accident. My roommate also believes that the dreams are a power alone to Peter because he had them before the accident with noone nearby. I also believe that the hatian will be a central plot device for long too come. If everyone thinks he is mute for a long time he is in a perfect position to gather a lot of intelligence.

Also, what if Peter were surrounded by people with powers? Can he take more than one power at a time and if so, then how many can he control? If he were to be overloaded by powers would he lose control? This might cause the explosion. If you take Cal Rankin from X-men when he gained powers he gained their full strength and powers. Though none of their control or knowledge that they gained over the years. If peter’s skill is even remotely based around this it could explain why he ends up activating powers without trying or knowing.

The way I see it is that Peter is not the cause of the bomb. For some reason, he is seeing Sylar in his dreams, and I think he was putting himself in Sylar’s place during the last dream.
Which begs the question, is he still seeing the future? If so, that means that he can retain powers of heroes he is near after they have left. Which puts Peter as the most pivotal character in the series.
