The GOOD News:
As previously discussed, last week’s talks between WGA leaders and top studios execs have been productive. So productive, in fact, that WGA leaders have scheduled bicoastal (Los Angeles for the WGA West, New York City for the WGA East) meetings with their members.
At the meetings (both scheduled for Saturday February 9th, at at 2 PM at The Crowne Plaza in NY and 7 PM at The Shrine Auditorium in LA) WGA leaders will go over the details of the proposed agreement, and the discussion of the proposed agreement with WGA members will tell WGA leaders if the deal is going to pass in a ratification vote by the 10,000+ WGA members.
It is also possible next Saturday’s meetings go so well that WGA leaders might decide to issue an immediate ‘Back To Work’ order to its members. In that case WGA members could be back to work as early as Monday, February 11.
Under this scenario Hollywood studios will resume production on comedy and drama show in 2 to 4 weeks and air the first new episodes starting in May.
The BAD News:
Since Heroes’ production times are longer than the average drama (or comedy) show, and no new episode will air during Summer, Tim Kring thinks he can complete only three new episodes this season (this season = before Summer).
The next ‘Volume’ of Heroes ( before the strike ) planned to air between December and June, is titled ‘Villains’. And this is Tim Kring’s opnion: ”With a show like Heroes that’s so strongly serialized, and given what we wanted to accomplish with the new storyline, to come back with just three episodes could be creatively dangerous.”
Our Opinion:
Since producers and writers are creative people…they should think ‘outside the box.’
If it’s true that airing only three episodes (out of a dozen) of a ‘Volume’ could be dangerous,
is also true that those three hours of Heroes could be utilized to air an ‘Epilogue’ to Volume 2 (and tie a few loose ends caused by the need to end quickly the story arc) and an ‘Introduction’ to Volume 3.
Or film three self-standing episodes (who did not enjoy Episode 17 of Season 1 “Company Man’, please rise your hands) to explore, in depth, the past of our favorite characters… Hiro, or Peter, or Claire, or…
Your Opinion?

It seems to me the “Three Episodes” Tim would have been talking about are probably episodes they already had in production- not freshly written episodes. That said, we would only get part of a story line and then have to wait.
In my opinion, it’s better to wait.
Would be great to see “past” episodes of the major “?” events. Something like an episode of the day Matts dad left him? Showing reasons for it and how he actually felt when doing it.
Another one would be the mystery behind Authors death, murdered, went in hiding? It would be sort of in the same timezone as S01E10 “Six months ago” but from Authors perspective.
One could speculate that he was murdered in order to keep Nathan from prosecuting him and Linderman (murdered by Linderman/Angela?) It could also be that he simply went into hiding and let people assume he was dead, a plan formulated by himself, Angela and Linderman to ensure the events would proceed as planned and Nathan would end up running for Congress and thus, setting in motion the whole big bomb plan
!
I sooo should be a writer!
Give us some creative singled out episodes explaining past stories and ancestors of our beloved heroes!
Thanks \o/
Hello, just a thought… how about a haitus spinoff all about the the founders of the company placed in their own time. AKA Heroes placed in the 70’s about the founders to offer some insight. Just a thought.

Good shout. I say bring on the Origins volume would be a great idea. Afterall, Villain is supposed to be the last volume of the 2nd season, and it’s only fair that it’s shown all at once for the audience and its continuity.
If Origins was s’pose to be an intermediate volume, then having it stopped for the Summer after 3 episodes wouldn’t be so heart breaking and mind bugging.
Their is no harm in playing S3:Villains in the SUMMER!
Why not just make the three episodes into a telemovie?
I agree with Maj ( are you MateJ?) TV has thee Dumbest….Scheduel…..Ever. And what on earth is a telemovie??? :-/

Telemovie = made for TV movie. Ex. “Battlestar Galactica: Razor” “Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars” etc.
I think the bad news might not be that bad. Think about it, if those three episodes live up to the HEroes suspense, then that suspense will build up over the summer and it will be awesome when they come back.
I’m kinda sick of cliffhangers. So I really think either play during the summer (which might not be possible), or make it so that the third episode concludes with an opening for the future, but not on a DIRE OMG cliffhanger.
Either way, I want to see an episode before next September.
Keep playing new episodes into June! We’ve been deprived enough already this year!
I think the self standing 3 episodes would be a good idea. Entertaining and doesn’t tamper with Villains. Let’s see more of how Elle became the colorful character she is or perhaps some more background on Bob.
Why not show us the history behind the Company… There’s a LOT of us wanting to see the older generation in action…. Although only 3 episodes, this is a chance to really bring the elders into the foreground…. This would also, in my opinion, make Volume 3 stronger, because we know a little behind the Company’s motivations.
TIM KRINGGGGGGGG PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE MAKE ORIGINSSSSSS AT LEAST 3 EPISODES OR MOREEEEEEEEE GIVE US MORE HEROES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Understandably we want to see Heroes back as soon as possible, but I think I’d rather wait. There were a lot of season 2 episodes that were a disappointment . If the writers only have a a few weeks to write 3 more episodes for the rest of this season – whether an Origins or some continuity – then who’s to say it won’t be haphazardly done? And then, yes that would be a disaster that Tim would not want to gamble with. I would rather the writers have enough time to think through each episode, and then give us something really awsome next fall. Besides, I read that Tim is writing a “series bible” that would direct where Heroes is going with for the rest of its TV life. Thinking through all these in the summer might prove much better than giving fans a few episodes to tickle us.
