OMG Hello there this is my first post EVER so I hope you don’t mind my comment all you long time veterans
Now I think we need to look at the positives here
1. The Heroes don’t lose their powers for more then 1-2 episodes so you won’t get bored by the heroes running around bitching that they have no way of getting their powers back for very long
2. Claire and Hiro finally work together, the one who originally set out to save the cheerleader will finally meet her
3. More Kaito Nakamura (George Takei) which may reveal his long and often thought about power
4. If several fans remember when Kaito gave Claire to Noah, CLAUDE was there, which means that Claude could be coming back at least in a brief role
5. More Haitian for those fans who love the mysterious, often mute, man of mystery
6. It’s now quite clear that Claire survives being shot when the eclipse stopped her powers
Now the negatives
1. This makes up episode 13 on Kristen Bell’s (Elle) contract which means this is her last appearance for the Villains arc and so far for the rest of season 3 which means that if she is Sylar’s baby’s momma then she might be missing for a little while, although it was hinted at in a recent Behind the Eclipse interview that Kristen Bell was eager to come back and they would see what they can do.
2. The writers clearly didn’t have much planned for Maya (Dania Ramirez) as she was written out after episode 7 and in a recent panel involving cast of Heroes, Dania hasn’t filmed anything yet or been informed if she’s needed and they r well into production of the last 6 episodes.
3. Despite the fact that Tracy (Ali Larter) seems to have betrayed the Heroes for the villains, nobody seems to have registered this or at least nothings been stated in the official descriptions.
How’s this for a reason why Adam hasn’t died due to the multiple eclipse’s, Adam’s Powers were temporarily paused but they were still there, so if Adam aged at all he couldve regenerated back or only aged a little from each eclipse
But Adam had his power taken away COMPLETELY by Arthur, like gone for good, so Adam’s body had no way it would ever come back and rebuild
Another reason is maybe this eclipse is just different to the others and that the eclipses mainly only empower and evolve humans, and this eclipse is different as it takes away powers temporarily
Everyone just needs to stop thinking about what doesn’t make sense and what makes the series bad, and focus about what makes it good and clever
The Writers are trying to please alot of people
Season 2’s new characters; West, Alejandro, Monica, Elle, Adam, Bob and Maya
West was written out, Alejandro, Adam and Bob were killed, Maya seems to have been written out for now at least, Elle is the only character that stuck around and seems to have no chance of dying for at least 9 months (unless they change the future AGAIN)
I’ve been hearing rumours about Monica appearing soon involving a storyline with Tracy but so far she seems to have been written out completely (Although I hope she can be brought back with the greatly reduced supporting cast from season 2 and season 3)
Bottom line while there has been alot of negatives to the series, this is possibly one of the only series on television that listen to the viewers extensively, people said that they hated the West/ Claire love story and the Hiro/ Yaeko love story, and how Peter seemingly ALWAYS blanks on what powers he should use at what time
Don’t think so much about “How was Adam alive during all the other eclipes?”, “Is Elle going to be the mother of Sylar’s baby and if so, HOW?”, When is Peter going to get his powers back?”, “Does Arthur have “The Hunger”?”, “Will Kaito’s power be revealed soon?”
Just sit back and enjoy the ride and hope that the series makes it to the originally projected 5 Seasons that Tim Kring originally stated he wanted
P.S. Sorry if i sounded rude, I don’t mean to be. Just when I get an opinion I kind of have a habit of stating it in a slightly arrogant way :S
The whole thing with the eclipse can be looked at like this. A solar eclipse, which we are seeing , only is visible from certain parts of the world. If one or more of the heroes happened to be away from the area it could be seen , would it affect them ? Maybe this is how Adam survived for so long.
Love your points joshy
My theory on Adam……….When the eclipse happens, the powers get turned off.
So basically, Adam would begin to age or not be able to heal until that point which another eclipse happens and his powers get turned back on….
But what Arthur does is remove all traces of the power, Adam, instead of starting to age from the point of losing his power, actually becomes his age…..
Maybe, maybe not. But Arthur did tell Peter that his powers were gone forever, but who really knows. If that is the case, then Peter won’t have powers anymore at all……..which would seriously suck. Peter is learning to not take the powers for granted and he would be a wise hero for it!
I agree. Talha, I am not an idiot btw. I think everyone who actually follows heroes and all the aspects that have made it a good show can see that this season hasnt measured up to what heroes can really be aka season 1. That doesnt mean i dont like heroes, cause i still love it, but i dont have the same feelings watchin it now compared to when season 1 was on. I feel now thou that it is starting to pick up thou,(peter becoming less god-like/the heroes choosing a side). But idk is it me, or are these love stories not believeable? Sylar and Elle is kinda believeable cause they are redemption killers, but Matt and Daphne is not. I dont see how they love each other, except b/c the future said they are supposed to be together. OkOk ive said too much. Damn i love heroes, thats why i critique it
Why thank you Gabman
Possible Spoiler for this episode: Elle will die by Sylar’s hand most likely and Arthur by Peter.
For now I prefer that Elle and Arthur stay longer since those characters, specialy Arthur is becoming interesting, I’d like to see him along with Angela doing more scenes, same as Sylar and Elle.
Hey don’t hate… appreciate
Heroes should pull back together by the end of the season, we all just need some patience
Everyone just needs to relax and enjoy the show. Every time I get onto this website, I scroll through countless comments on how Heroes is getting worse. Of course Heroes isn’t going to be like it was in Volume 1. That’s like expecting episodes 4,5,and 6 of Star Wars to match up to the first three. It’s just not gonna happen. All they can do is work with what they have and try to make it appeal to the masses. For the past several episdoes, the show has kind of dragged on and on, but it’ll pick back up soon and eventually lead into an intense Volume 3 finale and open for Volume 4. So let’s just do what Gandhi said and “don’t hate…appreciate,” because just like all television shows, Heroes will eventually die and everyone will wish that it was still on.
When Heroes first started, I was hooked. Each week, a colleague and I would talk about the episode and have theories on what would happen next. Even thru season 2 we still had the same interest and excitement. In season 3, the excitement is gone. NBC, to their credit, noticed it as well. Which is why two of the main writers were shown the door. All these episodes up thru the end of the arc were creatively directed by the two formerly employed writers.
The one thing they did right this season was revisit past things thru a “spirit walk”. Hiro wasn’t there to eff it up, but just as an observer. The name of the arc was “Villains”, and as it turns out there is only ONE Villain. The rest are just doing as they are told so as not to be killed.
There is just too much inconsistency this season to draw me in. I’ll still watch the show, until such time a better alternative appears for the 9pm hour on Mondays. I still hold out hope for the next volume, but the early pictures aren’t all that appealing.
Unfortunately the opposite is true. Jeph and Jess were pushing ‘heroic’ stories, while NBC’s execs were (and still are) pushing the ’soap opera’ to boost ratings.
But, again, the reason behind Jess and Jeph’s departures was purely financial and had nothing to do with creative process politics or philosophies
I agree that they wanted to wipe out Season 2, which was a shame since Adam was a great character with real potential. Elle will stay around because the fanbase loves Kristin and the Kristin+Quinto dynamic is awesome.
My theory on the eclipse is they aren’t actually eclipses but some external source manipulating “evolution”. The first eclipse we saw in the show created lots of people with abilities, but there kept being more and more and in 5 years gone we see the President saying that these people with abilities just keep springing up even if they limit their reproduction and segregate them.
I hope that’s the aim of this eclipse or at least a direction the show is taking, in the very beginning it hinted at the concept of everything having a “purpose” and all these people being connected for a reason. Hopefully there’s something out there that makes everyone seem insignificant.
Hm… Interrupted by Sylar?? Strange I thought Peter was with Haitian, so Sylar shouldn’t pose any threat to them… But… well, without powers, I guess, it should be dangerous for Peter with all of these villains with pistols out there??!
Can someone explain to me why Mohinder is having trouble creating a formula to give people powers when they’ve (either the Company or Pinehearst) already succeeded (i.e. giving Nathan, Niki, Tracey et al powers)? Why doesn’t anyone remember what they used then? Am I missing the point here? This is really bugging me (though not as much as why Angela and Kaito didn’t just destroy the damn formula if they didn’t want anyone to ever get it).
