hey i guess that last weeks preview when cliare cut peter will be tied into next week cuz it wasn’t in this weeks episode obviously…
SO EXCITED ALREADY! I want to know what happens next!
Sylar’s baby mama is the speedster. She’s really the only viable option who we’ve seen.
I doubt future Peter can even be killed, can’t he be resuccitated just by removing the bullet from his head and putting him back together assuming Claire manages to shoot him in the head?
Also OMG Family Sylar! Man this season’s going to be a head-trip.
i highly doubt Sylars mate has an ability…he would have craved her too much and killed her
Awesome, I totally agree with you on the future peter thing. The writers do not know how to use the time travel theory correctly, they ruined it in the first ten minutes when hiro forwarded and rewound time. Ando would have been in the room, so future peter would know what he’s doing if this future is coming…
Sylar is having a baby?
Time travel never actually makes sense, I think in reality we will never be able to alter history, but for this show it’s required for the story. I think they’re using the Back To The Future model.
This assumes:
1. You can actually change the future, and there is ONE timeline. So actions done by time travelers are affecting the moment of time they’re in. This is opposed to the many world theory where you would just be displacing yourself into someone else’s timeline. This is why when time travelers return things have changed.
2. If you travel back in time you will remember life as it was from the time you left, this is why future Peter and even future Hiro in Season 1 couldn’t tell what they had changed. In BttF Marty comes back to find his parents completely different than how they were when he left but doesn’t remember what his life with them from childhood to then is other than how it was when he left.
3. Precognition and Time Travel observe time differently. Precog can only see the current timeline, but in effect, a time traveler operates outside of the normal timeline causing the precog to see one vision of what will be and then another of what will be after the time traveler appears. (Explains Issac and Matt’s BFF’s visions)
4. Time works as if there’s a slider scrolling the timeline, only one point exists at an instance. Thus if a time traveler goes back and fixes things the version of himself that was from the time he travelled to doesn’t have to go back and make sure things stay that way again. So in other words, no causality loop from time travel.
Finally (this one doesn’t make much sense),
5. It appears if you time travel there are 2 versions of the time traveler, the one from the time he traveled and the one at the time he traveled to, meaning if Future Peter takes Present Peter to 5 minutes before he left, there will be another Peter.
Ugh…time travel is a really ugly concept. But I’m guessing those are the defined rules for time travel here, which explains why Future Peter doesn’t know what he changed. I’m not sure what Future Hiro meant by time rifts in Season one though, unless he meant the butterfly effect which is VERY possible with this setup.
Oh also a few quick notes on what this means:
When Hiro “stops time” and “rewinds time” he’s actually moving himself through time, which would explain how he could play with the clock like that and why the Speedster could move fast with him slowing things.
Also Caitlan is dead. Her timeline ceased to exist with her in it.
The only bug is I don’t understand how they violate the first law of matter. But then again this is fiction and not science-fiction.
she’s not dead time merely changed around her besides it was stated she’s alive in the interview……………………..
I love heroes but hate the fact that they keep doing this past/future stuff. I feel like it doesn’t make logical sense. Also, Hiro and Ando are not that funny this season. It was funny in the first episode but now it’s just lame.
I was looking forward to cooler villains. It’s the thing that I look forward to, I like seeing new powers show up but these level five are lame compared to Sylar and Peter. I do like Tracy’s power though as the ice queen.
When Dr. Zimmerman opened his door and saw Tracy, he said some other name that I couldn’t pick up very well. I thought he said “Barbara”. So that makes me think there’s more Tracy/Nikki/Jessica…
If Claire is indestructible, how come in Angela’s dream, some guy cut her head off and separated her body from her head?
@ChiSoxFan
She’s not indestructible, she’s unkillable, which is a big difference. If they separate her from her head, someone could always reattach her head, but if it never happens, that’d be interesting. Remember when she was on the autopsy table in season 1? She was able to pull herself together. If her head were removed, would she be like the head-less horseman, looking for her head? Or would she be “effectively dead”….at least until her head was reattached?
@kohaxx
Time travel can make sense, but you either have to use one of these models:
a) Multi-world model where you can never return to a world that you’ve changed. (Back to the Future)
b) The “Ghost model” where you can go back, but you can’t actually change anything.
c) The “Dr Who model” where you can never change the past no matter how hard you try because you can’t return to a point in space and time that would affect your own past (the time version of the Pauli Exclusion Principle).
But the common theme in all of this is that you really can’t change “the past”, even if you think you have. Heroes seems to use the (a) model, so every time Hiro or Peter jumps time, either we’re seeing a different world every time….or we’re seeing the Hiro or Peter from another time line in our current world.
They don’t make this explicit since otherwise, Heroes would be extremely confusing for the average viewer, but I suspect that the writers want to inconsistently switch from the “world perspective” to the “Hiro/Peter perspective”, depending on which would give the better plot.
This inconsistency in perspective may result in the apparent contradictions you’ve noted, but they aren’t really contradictions once you figure out which world/personal timelime the story is following after each jump.
A few points…
It’s clear that the ability that Peter gets is the ability to place someone’s soul inside someone else’s body. This just happened to him this past episode. He obviously puts Mrs. Bennett in slyar’s body, hence him playing with that ugly dog and being kinda femm.
Mohinder must be unstable. Very unstable. Hence why his skin is coming off and his fingers are making fluid. Did anyone else notice him taking out 2 cartons of milk?
As far as Clair/Adam’s power goes. There is currently a contradiction in the story line. Adam and Mrs. Pettrelli have said that a bullet through the head is the only way to kill Adam/Peter. However, Sylar said that Clair can never die. I’m assuming that clair and adam have the same ability, but we still don’t know what Sylar’s Rant about clair being special is all about yet and taht could be the difference. Or try this one, Adam was blown up in the 1600’s, but he lived. So WTF would a bullet do?
Nikki and her sisters were probably a clone experiment or the work of a guy with some kinda super power to duplicate people. However mohinder states that the type of power a person gets is dependent on their genetic makeup, so if they were clones they would have the same power no?
I agree that the time travel is the mess currently. Half of the stories about Hiro’s Childhood hero were actually done by him and Adam would not have done the stuff he did without hero. So from the first episode one, we were observing a time line that Hero had been in the 1600’s.
Finally, all Sci-fi movies that involve time travel whine about the time-space-continum ripping in half, yet no matter how much they fuck with it, it never does. I want to see that
j/k
If claire cannot die, how did sylar killed her in season 1 future??? One big Question mark.
Fuck this time line bullshit
CKH who said she was dead? they didn’t show her after that seen so its up to interpretation if she died or not
there’s FIVE of the Sanders sisters, if im not mistaken. Niki, Jessica, Gina, Tracy, and one more.. they are gonna unveil her soon.
