Heroesrevealed footnote:
Horace’s maxim “Eram quod es; eris quod sum,” was taken over on early generations of New England gravestones. It may be translated, “I was what you are; you will be what I am.” This message appealed to the New England Puritans because it suggested the centrality of self-examination before you breathed your last.

does peter give in to the “Hunger”?
EVIL OTTO
its confusing, he has the power to absorb..he doesnt have to kill. there should be no hunger to get more
aj
rememeber Sylar’s power was “The Hunger”
Peter may can absorb powers but
with sylars hunger it makes him want to
find how it works
Correct
great episode so far
Jeff
I’m confused, what exactly did Peter obtain from the future Sylar?
Sure, now he sees how things function. But why does he need to kill, right?
He can just take the power by being near. What the hell
some guy
Peter obtain future Sylar’s powers. He did acquired his power by near him thts how he fix the clock duh! You didnt see Sylars head opened. Sylar’s power is out of control which causes the Hunger. Future Sylar forced himself into control for his son but then well nuclear cuz hes out of control. Like his powers was affected by emotions like anger/rage.
Shuddup
perhaps is not the urge to kill but the urge to understand everything. you wanna try what apple-custard fruit taste like?

Hmm, I agree. It seems that Peter’s power allows him to empathize, but not exactly understand the powers of others. Sylar’s allows him to truly understand how things work.
I suppose what Sylar has is an endless thirst for knowledge o.O

sylar said all the answers are right there in the brain. answers to powers and emotions and life and who knows what else. i think the shows going to be all about potential. the potential to be good or eveil, and the potential to become anything. sylar talked about how we only use a small percentage of our brain and said imagine what we could do if we used all of it. i think everyone is capable of useing every power there is because all sylar has to do is change his mind. in the very first episode, suresh talked about how if we were made in gods image, then god must be a cockroach. and then he talked about potential and evolution to becaome what we were really meant to be. thats what the shows all about. its taking a strange man-made turn right now but in the end, i think this is really the theme.

There’s also something that made no sense:
Why didn’t Future Peter regenerate from the bullets later on in the episode?
Where Present Peter begins to use telepathy on Nathan, Future Peter should’ve been able to heal from the bullets.
What the frick!?

^^^Don’t you remember from season 1? I realize now that a LOT of people never caught on to this, when it was actively shown. There’s a certain spot in the brain that can turn off the abilities. It happened to Claire when she had that giant piece of wood lodged in her brain. Which is why she was afraid to shoot and kill Peter in the S1 finale, in the exact spot that he told her too. Because she knew it would kill him.
Which is why Peter died when Sylar had struck that shard of glass in his brain. It immobolizes people like Claire, Peter, Adam, and now Sylar.

Claire’s power doesn’t let people come back from the dead. Especially for Peter, who has to focus to use other people’s powers. They’re not latent within him.

That isn’t true. When peter fought with Sylar the first time and both of them fell off of the building, Peter was dead, his bones were broken and twisted. Then when claire came down to him he came back from the dead, but ONLY when she came to him.
you people are clueless.
Peter’s hunger is different from Sylar’s. Its not that hard to see actually if you WATCH the show and actually can pay some attention. Now if you still have trouble, you have to be really dumb so at this point i’ll help you. Here goes..Hunger is about wanting to know something…It doesn’t have anything to do with stealing abilities..that was just Sylar’s version of the hunger………….was that so difficult to understand???????????/

sweet!
