Yeah, We all know that, Peter is sick and he will explode in NewYork and so on. First of all, lets read the transcript of a great scene between Sylar and Claires Dad aka H.R.G.
HRG : You lost a lot of blood. We sewed you up the best we could. Turns out you're not so untouchable after all. Oh,no. No,you'll find your abilities won't work. Not here. You're not going anywhere, Gabriel. Sylar : My name is Sylar. HRG : Now it is. Wasn't so long ago that you were Gabriel Gray. An insignificant watchmaker. Sylar :I restored timepieces. Do you know why I was so good at it? HRG : No,why don't you tell me. Sylar : Because I can see how things work. What makes things...tick. HRG : Like you. We're interested in how things work as well. Everyone else we've...met has had only one ability. You've taken on several. Sylar : I ess that's what makes me special. HRG : That's important to you, isn't it? Being special. Sylar : It's important to everyone. HRG : I think you're insane. I think the infusion of so many alterations to your DNA has corrupted your mind. All this power is degrading you. Sylar : And yet here I am, alive and well, and as soon as I get out, I'm gonna collect one more ability from your doughter. Sweet,innocent. HRG : That's enough. Sylar : Ripe,indestructible. HRG : I said that's enough, Gabriel. Sylar : My name is Sylar!
We know that, Peter can absorb power of others, but until this episode i think that’s a temporary state, he’s just borrowing the ability for a time, when he’s away he become just a regular person – except the absorbing ability of course –
And Sylar, he can absorb powers to, but he HAS to reach the brain, the source of soul. He has to eat/taste the brain, so he can taste the soul and he can understand how is it possible. He got 9 different powers of 9 different dead gifted people. He gain that gifts/powers in 6 months, it’s a very long time for the process of mutation. But Peter, he took Nathan’s power, then Hiro, then Isaac, then Claire.. He thinks that, that powers doesn’t left a mark on him, but he was wrong. They begin to mutation process of his DNA.
When Peter met Sylar, Sylars Powers-all 9 of them- got into Peter’s DNA. It was a very strong attack for a non-stable DNA. Let’s read a sentence of HRG-Sylar conversation again
HRG : I think you're insane. I think the infusion of so many alterations to your DNA has corrupted your mind. All this power is degrading you.
Sylar got these 9 mutated DNA in 6 months, Peter got 12-13 mutuated DNA in 3 weeks-1 month. He begin to lose his stability, his body doesn’t accept so many power at once. So what’s going to happen right now, he’s sick and probably he’s going to end up in Coma…
In episode 12 “Godsend”, we’re going to welcome a new hero, Claude, who lives with his ability for a long time. He knows how to control his gift and how to use it. I think he’ll help to Peter a lot.
So what are you think about Peter’s situation? Is he really dangerous?
peter is sick because he absorbed claire’s power, and if u go back to episode 6, when Claire’s supposed biological parents came to visit her and left. The foster mom was telling Claire how she is not surprised that her foster Dad went to look for her biological parents, seeing he has done this before.
When Claire asked when this happened, the mother said, “when you were a baby we thought something was wrong with your chromosome, some disease”. When asked what kind of disease, she said, “nothing was wrong with you, you were fine… i don’t know, it’s just one of those things… you had a cough claire”.
the overload of power is just a little too much of a stretch for me imo, sorry if i don’t agree.
All you said sounds reasonable, to tell the truth, I didn’t think that way after I had watched the last episode.
I want Peter to reach “power” – I think that’s probably related with my high-identification with Peter ’cause, he wants the power as a ‘normal’ (usual?) human being and he ‘yearns’ to be a hero. And then, look what happens to him; all makes me upset but in the other hand, I think we’ll see Peter as a leader and ‘the most powerful one’ later on next episode(s).

Absorbing all the powers that he has has made Sylar crazy, not sick. When HRG says it is “degrading” Sylar, he is speaking of the condition of his mind, not his body.
Peter’s problem seems to be more of the body than the mind. He is getting physically sick – drained seems to be the best word. And the reason for that? He lost an enormous amount of blood fighting Sylar. But his wounds all healed themselves, leaving no evidence that he was hurt (aside from the blood). So odds, are, he is desperately short on blood, yet was probably never properly checked out by a doctor. That is what has made him weak.
As for the dreams, Peter has always dreamed of future things, right from the very first episode, and long before he met Issac. If I was a betting man, I would say that the young boy who can enter people’s dreams is leading Peter to answers. Peter is not going to blow up New York, Sylar is, but the dreams are trying to help Peter see what actually happens, so he can stop it.
Nothing against sane_psyco, but i don’t see how he would absorb anything but claires’ power. Living i new york, he would probably have been exposed to many people with genetic abnormalities (downs syndrome, ALS, etc.), yet we don’t see him sprouting any of those traits. Also, to the best of my observations, peter only has others powers temporarily (as evidenced by him being unable to fly at the play ground), and this illness seems to be much more long term.
I believe that peter is now in a coma. after his collapse at the very end of “fallout”, peter was non-communitive and did not respond to stimuli from his brother. Furthermore, in the preview reel following episode 11 (”are you on the list?”), it shows someone who appears to be peter on a hospital bed. I therefore feel confident in saying that it iwas more of a shock/stress reaction that put him into it, and that when he collapsed he sustained some injury which was, metaphorically, the straw that broke the camel’s back, putting him over the edge.
I think that the explosion that hiro teleports himself away from and the one where peter explodes are definitly not the same one, in hiro’s the paper says that petreelli won by a landslide, but when peter is blowing up there is a banner that reads “vote petrell” let me know what you think
I recon he has a cough and stuff, because he is no longer near clare, and allthough she heals and so did he, she sustains her powers. It may take more than just putting things in the right places to heal properly and maybe because he hasnt had enough time with her powers, he isnt completly healed. I dunnoo, but i dont recs hel be in a coma…
