US, December 14, 2007 - This past Tuesday saw cast members from Heroes and fans of the show join the striking writers on the picket line outside Universal Studios. Greg Grunberg (”Matt Parkman”), Dana Davis (”Monica Dawson”), Sendhil Ramamurthy (”Mohinder Suresh”), Dania Ramirez (”Maya Herrera”), Cristine Rose (”Angela Petrelli”), Jack Coleman (”Noah Bennet”), Ali Larter (”Niki Sanders”), Masi Oka (”Hiro Nakamura”) and Kristen Bell (”Elle Bishop”) all were in attendance showing support for the writers, including the creator of the show, Tim Kring.

IGN TV was able to speak to Kring to talk about the strike, and how it has impacted Heroes, which ended up re-shooting the ending of the final episode of their Volume 2 storyline, “Generations”, as the possibility of a strike grew. Also discussed some of the criticism Heroes received during Volume 2; the spinoff series Origins — which was taken off the schedule this year thanks to the strike – and hints of what’s to come in Volume 3, entitled “Villains.”

IGN TV: You’ve had a lot of fan encounters since the show began, but this must be a different experience than any of the others.

Tim Kring: Yeah, this is unique. This is not the ideal way to interact with the fans, when you’re unemployed and your future is uncertain. But it’s very heartening to have them show up like this.

IGN TV: What’s your take on the situation? Last week things seemed to be going relatively well, and then the bottom dropped out again.

Kring: Listen, I don’t know if this was always a part of the script. Clearly, a scenario that a lot of people have been talking about for awhile is this idea that the studios would go and make a deal with the directors and then we would follow after that. And clearly, that seems to be what it looks like is going to happen.

IGN TV: You have a lot of your cast here with you today. What do they seem to think about the situation?

Today, the NY POST published an article/ interview with Kristen Bell, star of the cult TV show ‘Veronica Mars’, that will join cast of ‘Heroes’ for a 13-episode arc (or maybe more) this fall.

Bell will be introduced in the fifth episode of Heroes volume 2 as Elle, a 20-something who’s lived with her power her entire life (it’s rumored to involve electricity and confirmed to manifest itself in either productive or destructive ways, depending on what she wants to accomplish). The other heroes will scratch their heads in puzzlement when they cross paths with her.

Asked about whether or not the Haitian has a regular name and if the audience would ever hear it, Jimmy simply said “He
has one but I don’t think I can tell you”. His character has actually had more interaction with the full ensemble cast than
any other actor on the show. Jimmy was asked who he enjoyed working with the most, “I would have loved to work a bit
more with Claude, Christopher (Eccleston). But unfortunately he has not been doing much lately with us.” There is
speculation this popular character may be back in the second season “I know they want him back, so maybe they will be
able to bring him back.” “…he (Christopher) is a good actor. Its always good to work with good actors. Everybody is doing a
great job, but because he comes from a different place different style then he adds something different to the show.”

Will the Haitian and Sylar the show’s main bad guy played by Zach Quinto ever have a showdown? “We only had a couple
scenes together only and he is obviously amazing. But we don’t have too much to with each other. I think if we meet one of
us would have to go.” Asked about working with Mr Bennet as played by Jack Coleman, “Yeah obviously I enjoy working
with Jack as well and I do all the time. Even in the second season I am always with him.”
