“The Bennets” talk Heroes Season 2

This week at NBC’s TCA (Television Critics Association) Press Tour party, tv.ign.com’s staff members were able to speak to Jack Coleman and Hayden Panettiere about their characters, Noah and Claire Bennet, and what’s to come in Season 2.

Here’s the highlights:

About shooting Season 2 so far, and the Bennets’ storyline:

Panettiere: “Wonderful. It’s been really, really, really fun. It’s been great.”

Coleman: “The Bennet family has relocated; I can’t tell you exactly where. It’s a new world. The secrets they keep from each other are new secrets. The old secrets have all been divulged. We’re not repeating old ground, but there’s old ghosts and old habits that are about to rear their ugly head in a very dramatic way.” [The entire family was together again at the start of the season] “in a very difficult, awkward circumstance, that they all have to try to deal with and it gets pretty sticky pretty quickly.”

As for the bigger picture of the Heroes world:

Panettiere: “We find everyone four months from where we left of. We’re not sure who’s alive and who’s dead, and yadda yadda. There’s a lot of things that have happened in those four months, so we’re going to find out about that. But Claire’s trying to be a normal girl again. She’s fighting to find that inner teenager in her.” [Claire will discover that] “the irony of it is no matter where you go, everything is kind of always the same. Everyone kind of looks the same.”

Cheerleader outfit during Season 2:

Panettiere: “Possibly. Possibly! I wouldn’t say goodbye to the cheerleading outfits just yet. She is ‘The Cheerleader.” [...] “except maybe this season, she might actually do some cheering! I’ve told the producers ‘We need to talk about this cheering thing!’”

About the success Heroes achieved in the past year:

Coleman: “Taking the whole entirety of the last twelve months, it is pretty staggering. It’s funny because it happens in increments so you don’t see the snowball building the way it has been. But nobody knew the show was going to be what it is. I think everybody suspected it had a chance to be successful, but not on its way to being an international brand. We’re doing great – all around the world it’s doing really well. We’re about to go all over the world to promote it. It’s ridiculously exciting.”

Big special effects and prosthetic makeup scenes in Season 2:

Panettiere: “Oh, I’m sure! She is the indestructible cheerleader, so you assume she’ll be at the front of most of that action stuff.”

Back to the Future?

Heroes back to the future

Jack Coleman revealed some info about episode 20, which will be aired on early May. According Jack Coleman, episode 20 is about five year later from present day. Hiro & Ando, yep Hiro and Ando(!), making a jump into future. Altough our lovely ex-cop Matt Parkman will be little bit different..

[spoiler]

Greg Grunberg : We’re shooting an episode… we’re about to shoot, where it’s five years in the future, and it’s not the Matt Parkman that anyone is used to seeing. My character is in a place that is really dark, and I’m not going to play it like this menacing, evil guy. I’m just going to play it as normal as possible. That, to me, is the way to make the most impact. Let the actions speak louder than the words

Maybe we can get a chance to see Peter as Scarface?

Jack Coleman talk about HRG

No Comments 17 February 2007

Jack Coleman as H.R.G.

Our friend Daniel, from TVAddict.com, was kind enough to inform us about Jack Coleman Interview.

Okay, on to some questions HEROES fans are clamoring for. How does HRG justify his actions?
HRG sees himself as working for the greater good. Taking on a job that’s dirty, but has to be done. I think it’s sort of the same way that people can justify doing all kinds of things in their personal and professional lives. Unfortunately though, his ability to separate his personal and professional life is about to end.

In episode 17 there are a lot of big payoffs. We’ll learn a lot more about HRG’s back-story. We’ll flash back to see how HRG started in the company and how he came into possession of Claire. HRG will really have to make a decision and when he does, he takes a stand and it leaves viewers with a very, very, dramatic conclusion.

In the episode viewers will also get a better look into how the whole “memory erase” works. Knowing that you can be discovered, yet still cover your tracks is a very addicting power (providing the Haitian is available of course!).

Will HRG’S relationship with Claire continue to deteriorate?
Again, in episode 17, a crisis will bring their relationship to a head. As twisted and deceitful as their relationship is, I believe that they ultimatily love eachother. I think it’s one of the bedrocks that HEROES is built on. I can’t imagine they’d ever really try and kill eachother. It’s much more of a domestic issue than that of a super hero one.

11 Comments 05 December 2006

Peter Petrelli

Yeah, We all know that, Peter is sick and he will explode in NewYork and so on. First of all, lets read the transcript of a great scene between Sylar and Claires Dad aka H.R.G.

HRG vs. Sylar
HRG : You lost a lot of blood.
We sewed you up the best we could.
Turns out you're not so untouchable after all.
	  Oh,no.
No,you'll find your abilities won't work.
	  Not here.
	  You're not going anywhere, Gabriel.

Sylar : My name is Sylar.
HRG : Now it is.
Wasn't so long ago that you were Gabriel Gray.
	  An insignificant watchmaker.

Sylar :I restored timepieces.
Do you know why I was so good at it?

HRG : No,why don't you tell me.

Sylar : Because I can see how things work.
	  What makes things...tick.

HRG : Like you.
We're interested in how things work as well.
Everyone else we've...met has had only one ability.
	 You've taken on several.

Sylar : I ess that's what makes me special.

HRG : That's important to you, isn't it?
	  Being special.

Sylar : It's important to everyone.

HRG : I think you're insane.
I think the infusion of so many alterations to your DNA
	  has corrupted your mind.
All this power is degrading you.

Sylar : And yet here I am, alive and well,
and as soon as I get out,
I'm gonna collect one more ability
	  from your doughter.
	  Sweet,innocent.

HRG : That's enough.

Sylar : Ripe,indestructible.

HRG : I said that's enough, Gabriel.

Sylar : My name is Sylar!
