Spoilers….What we know so far about “Five Years Gone…”

77 Comments 25 April 2007

So, everyone is excited about Episode 20. “Five Years Gone” is the appropriate title for the episode, with the original title being “String Theory,” subsequently the title of graphic novel 30. So, for those who don’t feel like trudging through the online Heroes labyrinth, I’ve compiled a list of spoilers for the new episode. Comment on the bottom if you know something we don’t know.

Peter has a bunch of new powers (given, from the promo). Here is the updated list:

 • phasing
 • telekinesis
 • pre-cognition
 • flight
 • invisibility (I’m guessing that this one will be important and that we haven’t seen the last of Claude)
 • time-travel
 • super-strength (from when he’s kissing Jessica)
 • regeneration
 • he should also have telepathy from meeting Matt, and
 • he also has the metaphysical connection with Nathan, and lastly
 • his prophetic/”everywhere eye” dream

To sum it up: Peter is going to be one powerful guy. And he’s teamed up with Hiro, and possibly Jessica from the looks of it. Posts to heroesrevealed.com say that this band of united Heroes is called the Freeworld, but that is at the moment unconfirmed. Cute, innocent Hiro is now the world’s most wanted terrorist (and perhaps Peter is second?). This Hiro went back in time to try to stop the bomb, who was originally Sylar. But instead of stopping the bomb, he turned the bomb into his best friend. In the graphic novel, we know that future Hiro finds Peter Petrelli on the subway because he trusts future Peter (because he is so powerful and the previews show that they are friends and perhaps live together-Isaac’s loft with the timeline). If you had one chance to save the world, wouldn’t you pick the person you trust the most? And so what if he’s the strongest, too?

Is Explosion necessary?

7 Comments 12 March 2007

ComicBookResources.com reveals Linderman plans for us. They get a chance to attend the Heroes Screening and Q&A at the Museum of Television & Radio’s Paley Festival, and saw a clip from the upcoming episode “.07%”.

Nathan Petrelli & Linderman

In the scene, Linderman entertains Nahan in an art gallery which showcases his extensive art collection, paintings of the future all, by Isaac Mendez and people like him. Included among the paintings were those of the fictional Japanese warrior Takezo Kensei. “We all have our roles to play in the events to come,” Linderman says. “This isn’t just a collection of art. This is a road map. These artists envision a brighter future. Peace, prosperity.”

Nathan jabs his finger at a painting of the New York explosion and asks: “Is this your idea of a brighter future?”

“What if I was to tell you that it was?” Linderman replies.

Linderman goes on to explain that he, too, has powers, which came with an audible reaction from the audience. He’d become aware of them years earlier, and banded together with others like him “to make a difference to the world.” But some of his comrades in arms lost their way. “Greed set in, and we split apart. And all the good we’d done, well, it amounted to nothing,” Linderman says.

Then Linderman drops a bombshell, literally and figuratively: the explosion is to be the catalyst for a better future. When Nathan wonders out aloud about the cost in lives, Linderman counters, “There’s six and a half billion people on the planet, that’s less than .07%. Come on, that’s an acceptable loss by anyone’s count.”

“It is your destiny, Nathan, to be the leader who uses this event to rally a city, a nation, a world,” Linderman continues. And to drive the point home, Linderman unveils a prophetic painting of Nathan Petrelli in the Oval Office, seemingly painted by Isaac Mendez.

Back to the Future?

Heroes back to the future

Jack Coleman revealed some info about episode 20, which will be aired on early May. According Jack Coleman, episode 20 is about five year later from present day. Hiro & Ando, yep Hiro and Ando(!), making a jump into future. Altough our lovely ex-cop Matt Parkman will be little bit different..
Greg Grunberg : We’re shooting an episode… we’re about to shoot, where it’s five years in the future, and it’s not the Matt Parkman that anyone is used to seeing. My character is in a place that is really dark, and I’m not going to play it like this menacing, evil guy. I’m just going to play it as normal as possible. That, to me, is the way to make the most impact. Let the actions speak louder than the words
Maybe we can get a chance to see Peter as Scarface?
