Here is some fresh news and rumors about NBC Heroes’ Season Two. They come mostly from this morning’s on-the-set press conference, sponsored by the TCA. Masi Oka was the tour guide.

• Nathan and Peter are alive. Or better say “not dead?”. Isaac is dead but we’ll see more paintings of the future during season two.

• The series will take a four weeks break at Christmas, and another -similar- break in Spring.

• Hector Luis Bustamante (of ‘Hostage’ fame) has signed for a guest starring role that may turn into recurring

• Lyndsy Fonseca is off the show . Fonseca’s “gay cheerleader” role had to be cut after Fonseca landed a series regular part on Desperate Housewives.

• Ali’s character, Niki, will move away from the split-personality gig.

• The entire cast was present at the TCA press event on the set but Leonard Roberts (D.L. )Note this is the second Heroes’ press conference in a row without Roberts. Rumor, still going strong, is we won’t see D.L. during season 2.

• Dania Ramirez revealed that her character, Maya “..speaks Spanish, is in Central America and she’s running from the cops…”. Press notes describe Maya as “a young woman plagued by a threatening ability that has driven both her and her twin brother Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz) from their home in the Dominican Republic to make the dangerous crossing to the United States in search of help.â€?

• Zachary Quinto, asked about his role on the upcoming Star Trek movie said “Everybody else seems to have more to say about it than I do”…”I’m under strict orders not to say anything ” But the usually well informed insiders insist he got the part, and Tim Kring said “we’re in negotiations about that now” [he'll work Quinto's shooting schedule to not interfere with Star Trek's]

• Haiti, Egypt, Mexico, Ireland, Ukraine, Japan and -obviously- the US are among this season’s destinations.

• Ubisoft is finishing a deal with NBC Universal to produce a “Heroes” videogame. Official announcement might come as early as this weekend at the SDCC

Latest Heroes’ Cast Speculations

7 Comments 11 June 2007

While impatiently waiting for the start of next season, Heroes fans are feed their need for speculations and guessings by keeping current and discuss the lastest rumors regarding Heroes Season Two cast. Is Nathan coming back?…about Matt?
There’s also lots of speculation around the indentity of actors that will play the new ‘Heroes’ mentioned recently -during interviews and press releases- by NBC Heroes’ staff members.

Here’s a couple of the most recent rumors:

Riyo Mori 2007 Miss Universe“Yaeko,” love interest for Hiro is rumored to be portrayed by Riyo Mori (recently crowned Miss Universe 2007).

Back in her home country after winning the Miss Universe 2007 contest in Mexico City last month, Mori said she has been swamped by cameras and has been doing interviews and appearances “nonstop.”

But Japan’s newest star said she won’t be able to savor her homecoming for long. She will soon be hitting the road again with her $250,000 pearl-and-diamond studded crown.

“I’m only here for a week, then it’s back to New York” and a tour around the world, the 20-year-old dancer said in an interview Monday. “It’s funny because I’ve never been surrounded by so many people, so many cameras. Japanese people never cared about beauty pageants before. But this is a huge thing in Japan now.”

Mori said she is hoping to devote herself to her new role â€â€? which includes acting as a spokeswoman for AIDS issues â€â€? and is also looking for a possible role on the TV series “Heroes,” broadcast by NBC, which has rights to the Miss Universe pageant.she said. “I’ve never acted before. I went to the casting audition and read a script in English and Japanese, and they said it was really good. So I hope I can be in the show.”

Mori said her role would be “Yaeko,” a love interest for one of the main characters.

Mori’s crowning caught Japan by surprise.

The only other time Japan has won the pageant was in 1959, when Akiko Kojima became the first Miss Universe from Asia.

David Anders

Also very intriguing the rumor surrounding David ‘Alias’ Anders that, according -again- to rumors, is the actor who’ll play “Kane”

Reliable inside sources connected to NBC tell me that David Anders, the ridiculously talented actor who played the ridiculously awesome Mr. Sark on Alias, is in final talks with Heroes to play a new character named Kane for the upcoming second season.

You heard me. Alias’ Sark. On Heroes. Two of TV’s best-ever shows colliding. Can you stand it?!

Now, apparently, the final word has not yet come down. So, I, for one, will be crossing my fingers and toes all weekend and praying to my Heroes good-luck charm (the roulette ball from my infamous two-word stint) that we’ll get David Anders in the Heroes mix next season, ’cause he would make the show all the more kickass in every way.

Heroes season 2: spoilers and more spoilers

11 Comments 07 June 2007

First bit comes from Ausiello (TVGuide’s Ask Ausiello)

Q: Is it true that Heroes will be recasting Micah? Why would they get rid of Noah Gray-Cabey? Vanessa

Ausiello: Let’s ask executive producer Dennis Hammer: “False. We love Noah.”

Q: I think one of the Heroes: Origins episodes should center on a spunky blonde girl with amazing detective powers from Neptune, California, and her loving and supportive dad. What do you think? Billy

Ausiello: I think it’s genius. Maybe the Jericho fans can help us organize some kind of campaign to make this happen. In other Heroes news, those gay-cheerleader rumors are true: Producers are casting the role of an “attractive Southern California cheerleader” who is “female,” “sweet” and “gay.”

The second comes from E!Online, as a short clip,
about a season one regular who’s leaving and a
new character that we’ll see during season two
