Its not so much a back story as it is an epilogue. This GN takes place after the last webisode.

a little weak after the kill squad trilogy, in my opinion.
I think it takes place before the last episode but ok. But this is one of my favorite and I actually enjoyed this one better than kill squad. Maybe because its about Echo and I hope his character is assimilated into the show. Plus they had my favorite character Elle in it.
One more thing this is my favorite character with this power. I’ve never seen it used in this way.

Its not really before the last episode so much as it gives detail and closure to the last episode. Because it showed what echo was doing during the 13 weeks while the webisode just jumped after the 13 weeks.
