Our friends at TVGuide gave us the bad news, Heroes: Origins (that’s the old name of the project, they’re thinking about changing the name) has been canceled by NBC because of the strike by the Writers Guild of America…
NBC has pulled the plug on Heroes: Origins, the Heroes spin-off that was slated to run next April. The network declined comment, but sources said the possible strike by the Writers Guild of America — which could happen after the guild’s contract expires midnight Thursday — played a role in the decision.
“Looking at everything in context of the strike, we’re evaluating all of our production commitments,” said one insider. “Scripts haven’t been written yet.”
Origins was designed to provide fans with six episodes of a fresh Heroes-related show in place of repeats in the spring. If the labor situation changes quickly, the network could revisit the decision to scrap the show. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio
According to Variety, there’s a chance Origins could be produced at a later date.

Unfortunately the threatened writers’ strike is a convenient scapegoat and probably not the real reason for this “indefinite postponement”.
I saw elsewhere last week’s episode was the lowest rated of the season. Ratings are down significantly. Network bigwigs aren’t going to give more airtime to a series with declining ratings.
This is annoying… let’s hope they do this next season. If Heroes is cancelled all together that will be really annoying!!

people that think heroes suck this season are retarded……. it had 2 slow episodes ( kindred and lizards which could have been made into one episode.) if you really think this season is gonna suck read the spoilers posted on nbc forum that is absolutly true. if they change it that will f*ck up an amazing season ahead. I dont know what writers make but if its anything less than the actors then theres something seriously wrong. if they make a little more then i hope the writers get alztimers and drop dead the day of their daughters wedding. I just hope they keep this season the way it was planned on and continue the next volume next year. They cant ruin the storyline over some cliffhanger. For those of you who think this season sucked please read the spoilers someone posted above and youll see that this season was set up perfectly. then again you dumbasses probably wont see how it go set up since your taste most likely reflects your intelligence. just remember how last season got slow a bit in the begining but was a setup for amazing episodes ahead. i couldnt agree more. anyway, im not really “rigged” by spoilers cuz i want to see it “documented.” meaning, although I’ve read the story, it’s still different as seen from the TV screen. so, no worries, i still love heroes! such a great show.

kaito dies and perfect setup for season…… awsome
episode 2 and 3 were boring with the gay love stories and highschool nonsense but they help set up
episode 4 kicked ass, sylar kills again and theres a picture of all original members of the company…. the guy covered up i think is kensei in the pic even thogh they made it look like someone else when they zoomed in on this website. the reason i think he looked different was that they were afraid sites like this would have seen it and with kenseis healing ability it would become obvious hes the one hunting all the older generation of hereos.
episode 5 and 6 need no explanation since we saw the future and matts father, that alone made those episodes kick ass.
keep in mind people also know they can watch it online which might affect the ratings a bit

amilie did you know most movie/tv critics get their credentials from not working with tv/movies but by working in another field as a critic. more critics get their credentials from being fashion critics actually. its my guess that most people dont like this season overall from reading too many critics reviews. Im sure theres a lot of people who geniunely dont like the show but i bet atleast half of the people who have a problem do because they read some assholes review.
I just can answer that ppl should look to outside world, before conclude that audience are lowering. I’m from Portugal, and here everyday we see new ppl discusing and enthusiastic about the series. It’s almost an illness for watching on of the best productions ever made

Just look up for how many heroes’ foreign fans sites there is and you may have a better perception of the dimension of the series.

This is really gay having a writers strike i mean cmon they are disappointing everyone who watches the programmes that are being cancelled. Im from New Zealand and its really popular over here. Its a shame to cancell such a good show!
